Hi all,
For a while now, I've felt a bit "boxed in" by my web hosting
provider (yahoo), in that my "UFO Series Home Page" was
pretty much at the upper limit in terms of disk space used
(250 MB) and monthly traffic (25 GB/month). In fact, I had
to take down my old "Barry Gray Music Sampler" page just to get
the side down to the allowable amount.
So I've decided to take the plunge and change hosting companies,
and see what happens. At best, I'll get a lot more space and
traffic allowance, and the site can grow accordingly. At worst,
it may become slow, unreliable, or I may get terminated for
a variety of reasons.
So, for better or worse, I've signed up with "LunarPages.com",
for a plan which offers 800 MB of disk space and 60 GB of
monthly traffic. In theory, this change should be transparent --
that is, you will still access the site via the usual "ufoseries.com"
address, and everything will work the way it always has. In practice,
there may be some problems in transferring
things over, or problems with the new site. I'll keep you updated as to
what's going on, and I'll probably be asking you all to tell me how good
the access is on the new site once it's there.
