Well, the DVDs are not *that* expensive... people should just
buy them rather than downloading MPEG copies...

By the way, the producer of the Australian UFO DVDs will
let me know the finalized feature set as soon as he knows
what it is himself... it seems that he has some ideas
for extras that may or may not be included, depending
on how much budget is allocated for this release by
Umbrella Entertainment (yes, the release has been
planned for years and is supposed to come out in
September, but the budget still has not been
determined!)

dear marc,

you are right, one should certainly try to buy the originals. but sometimes it's hard to get certain releases in some countries.

i do know that fact way too well from an elvisforum i am a member of :-), and co-members in romania, bulgaria or even on the FSU still do have significant problems in getting the releases. plus the prices (moderate for us) in their country means spending a considerable part of a month's paycheck. not all of them can afford.

take care, ellie (UK)

I bought the Carlton (UK, Region 2) sets when the were
released back in 2002. Superb quality, if darned
expensive (£35 per set; 2 sets). Now, I buy 30
episodes TV shows for about £40 for the whole shebang.

Yes, I guess the UFO DVDs are expensive by
today's standards. However, I guess I was comparing
the cost to the "old days", when it would cost a
lot just to buy 2 episodes on VHS tape, and those
wouldn't even necessarily be good quality (as
bootleg sources were the only available sources
for some episodes).

Re: DVDs / downloads

SHADO
When the UFO discs first came out here in the 'States, they WERE somewhat pricey. But now the Megaset can be had on eBay for about $75, including shipping. Definitely a fair price, considering the picture quality.
