A sign of things to come...

Marc Martin-2
Hi All,

For those of you who'd like to know about more about how the A&E UFO
videos will be packaged & cost, I suspect that their upcoming
Prisoner releases should be a good indicator:

Nice artwork, 3 episodes per volume, $40 per volume, extra
materials... but unavailable for shipment outside of the USA!

They look really good, but $40 each? I guess they charge that much because there's so few episodes?
And yes, I'm going to buy them anyway! :-)

Not really Marc, compare prices. It's even better.

Using The Avengers '65 Set 1 for example:
A&E $44.95
Amazon $25.95
If the A&E wants $39.95 for the Prisoner, Amazon's price...
Doesn't look like I'll be buying many discs directly from A&E.

"And to answer someone else's question," this is really quite
reasonable. At $13 per disc or ($4.33 per episode) it's not gouging.

But DVDs should cost even less. This is possible as they have a very
minimal material cost. I think the Movie/TV biz needs to wise up
about pricing. If not, MPEG4/DivX will do to DVDs what MP3 is doing
to CD sales.

And if amazon.com is selling it they will sell abroad too, Marc.
I'm sure.
