Angelo,
You're right. She does still love him. But that only makes us woman
angrier at her. We're all certain that we would never have let such a
wonderful man go. And we'll never forgive her for being so stupid.
Yours,
Denise

Wonderful man?
Let's put it this way...
How many of you have been in relationships with emotionally remote men
and hung around because he was wonderful?
Does it really matter how wonderful he is if he is never with you, even
when he is in the same room with you? Hey I hate Mary Straker too, she
is whiney and refuses to take any respoonsibilty for her situation, but
let's face it....
Straker really isn't cut out to be a family man. He is driven by
something else and his attention will always be focused elsewhere.

She just never gives Ed a chance to speak! It all boils down to her
inability to communicate with people very well. She just does not
listen...except of course to her mother, who we never see. I just wonder why
her mother was so keen to break up the marriage.

That is true. Ed even forgets to phone her in CCAOK. She was out of sight
and out of mind. There is nothing more annoying than the man you love
ignoring you. We have to remember that Mary was pregnant when they split up
and being pregnant can really screw up your reasoning skills. Her Mother
should have been more supportive at this crucial time.
