I am 38 and I first saw UFO when I was 17. I searched for years for other UFO fans but didn't find any fans or see any episodes until about 15 years later. That is when I found Marc's ufo site and this group. During that 15 year period I had only 4 cassette tapes to listen to (3 episodes) that I had recorded by holding my "not so state of the art" tape recorder up to the TV. I cherished those tapes (as primitive as they were) and played them so many times that they eventually wore out. I later found out that Helen Weber had her fan club in Philadelphia during the years I lived there (1985-1989)...I just didn't know. Lorraine |

I think my sister still has about twelve audio tapes of the eps. -J ===== Anyone can do any amount of work, provided it isn't the work he is supposed to be doing at that moment. -- Robert Benchley [hidden email] __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Hi all!
In regards to age with UFO - I was 12 in the fall of 1970 when it began broadcasting here in Atlantic Canada. The following spring (May 1971) my parents and I had to move to PEI and live there for many months because my maternal grandparents had been in a horrible car accident and almost died. We moved into their house and stayed there - I was taken out of school for the rest of the year, my dad kept working, my mom traveled everyday back and forth from eastern PEI to Charlottetown (the provincial capital) to see her parents in hospital. It was a terrible time. However, the one respite I had that spring and summer was watching UFO in repeats. It literally saved my sanity. When my grandmother was deemed able to come home from the hospital, it was my job to sleep with her, administer all her medications, get her up and dressed in the morning, feed her three meals a day, amuse her, bathe her, and get her ready for bed at night. This continued for several months. I e-mailed Mike Billington earlier this month to thank him for the relief the show gave to one world-weary 13-yr old that awful summer. Pam |

I also recorded some of them on tape holding the microphone to the TV speaker - no videorecorder in sight at this time (1972)... I loved to hear the cassettes (did it over and over again 8-) CU C. *Christian, vanishing into his memories...* |

Hey guys! I also tape recorded UFO episodes, but those tapes disappeared
decades ago. That's why I'm so keen to receive the UFO videotapes I ordered from amazon.com - they e-mailed me today and said they sent them out this am, WAH! I wanted them for the weekend!!! (*sob...moan...bitch....complain...*) Pam |
