Amnesia Drug

Did the amnesia drug only work to wipe out the past 24 hours or are
there instances where it was used to wipe out a longer time frame
period? I thought it was 24 hours but then in some of the episodes
(can't remember which) it seemed to me that the people had knowledge
of Shado for a longer period than 24 hours.

I'm relying on my (sometimes faulty) memory here, but I would swear
that the events in "The Dalotek Affair" go on for more than 24 hours.

Ed, The events of Dalotek affair lasted more than 24 hours but only the last 24 hours were removed from the woman.

Yes, but then why doesn't she remember who Foster is in the restaurant?
Foster's first visit to the Dalotek based seems to have occurred more
than 24 hours before they got the amnesia shot...

I also wondered about the episode called The Sound Of Silence. It
seemed to me that the span of events also went longer than 24 hours
although I guess it could have taken place within the alloted 24. I'm
referring to the time period of when the brother went missing to
Foster showing up at the estate to his finding the UFO (at night?)and
then the time they took to discover the body in the capsule. Seems to
me the girl was brought in later after they uncarted her brother.
It's possible it only took a few hours to bring her to SHADO but I
just feel like it took longer than 24 hours for that whole sequence
to happen.

So back to my original question. Was the amnesia drug only supposed
to work for 24 hours - was that a stated fact or general assumption?

I ascertained (from the series) that the amnesia drug wipes out at least 24
hours from a person's memory - I've gone with this theory in several of my
fan fic stories. Pam
