Anyone have a complete archive of SHADO / FAB-UFO messages?

Hi all,

I've been looking at the mailing list issue, and am going to do some experimenting.  One big issue is the preservation of the archived discussions.  I'm curious if anyone has a complete archive of SHADO (2000-2010) and/or FAB-UFO (1994-2000) in .mbox format?  If not, I'll see how complete of an archive I can cobble together -- SHADO shouldn't be a problem, but FAB-UFO might be...

I have every post emailed to and from me since I joined this list. I used to use Outlook (different versions over the years) and since the last few years I have been using GMail Professional... So, I should have every posting since I joined (not quite sure when that was now). I do not have it in .mbox format but .pst, but I believe it's a simple matter to convert...

Okay, thanks, I will!  I still need to figure out what exactly *I* have... it's
the 1994-2000 FAB-UFO stuff that might be difficult, as I'll need to search
through my backup CDs and see what I have.

My idea is to add a mirror site to [hidden email], so the group will
stay here, but for those who can't stand the upcoming user interface could
switch to the mirror site (and one could either send or receive messages
using either yahoogroups or the mirror site interface, both either via the
web or e-mail).  But I'd like to populate the mirror site with the message
archive, and go back as far back as possible.

This list started on 24 August 1994, but back then it was called
FAB-UFO.  And when we moved to YahooGroups in 2000, there was no
way to move the FAB-UFO messages to YahooGroups.

Hi Marc,

I am fairly sure I was a member before 2000, maybe 1998'ish. I'll check when I get back home later this week (I do not have remote access to my archive stuff). I have it ALL (and just about anything I have ever done) archived on my servers, so if it is there, is required, you can have it all.

Re .MBOX: I have just checked, all I have to do is import the archived .PSTs into Outlook 200x (making sure not to import duplicates - I archive by year) then once all are imported and complete, and have weeded out any of my personal UFO correspondence, save back out as .MBOX. That should be it... ZIP it up,and then I can send you a link to the ZIP file on my server.

Okay, I've gone and checked my backups... I was surprised to find that back in the 1990's, I didn't backup my email like I do today, so I actually don't have any email data files (mbx, etc.)  prior to November 1998, and I have spotty coverage of FAB-UFO from November 1998 to  July 2000.  After July 2000 is no problem, as I've extracted this from the YahooGroups online archive.

Now, I do have hand-edited text files containing most all of the messages from 1994 - 2000 (!), but these have been stripped of most of the header information, so it seems like this would be difficult to turn these into a standard email data format (mbox, etc.).   Or maybe not -- maybe some of these formats don't require much header information.   Hmmm....
