Birthdates in Drake book

Hi, sorry for the confusion. The birthdates given in the Drake book
are supposed to be for the CHARACTER bios. They are not intended to
reflect the actual age of the actor/actress.

I wondered about this at first, but they have Foster born in '51, and
I'm sure that Mr. Billington was older than that--wasn't he 29 in
1969?

Hi Steve,
This would be right as Mike Billington was born Dec. 24( another poor
person born too close to Christmas like me)1941. So if Foster was born in
1951 they are just moving up the character' s birthday 10 years from the
actor's. As UFO was set 10 to 11 years in the future from when it was made
this has them playing someone their own age. So I think the age given for
Col. Lake has to be a mistake. What birthday did they give for Gay Ellis?

I read something that suggested Foster was supposed to be 29 at the time UFO
was taking place as a story line (not production of the TV show itself in
69-70) - that there was at least a 10 yr age difference between Foster and
Straker. Mike Billington, the real person was born in the 1940's as I
recall, and Ed Bishop born in the 1930's. There should be bios with the
actual dates on Marc's site I think.
