Hi all SHADO-HEADS,
Been away for a while, now definitely come back in the SHADO roster. I know some of you could consider this as a dull and pointless question, but in WHAT episodes Ed (Bishop) bleached his head, and from what specific point in the series he started to wear the (in)famous wig we all love? Just wondering, many thanks. |

Some please correct me if you know better, but I think Ed's own hair can mostly only be seen in IDENTIFIED. And even in this episode, some of the scenes were later reshot with Ed wearing a wig. Perhaps a goofy question, but was that Ed Bishop's real hair in Confetti Check? It's a more 'conventional' style haircut than his newer SHADO cut.

Marc,
Congrats. I can spot the difference, really. So the only real chance to see Bishop's "bleached" hair is in 'IDENTIFIED'. It makes sense. Along the way, while still shooting the episode, Bishop might have realized he was burning his natural hair, and opted for a wig. --- In [hidden email], Marc Martin <marc@...> wrote: > > > I know some of you could consider this as a dull and pointless > > question, but in WHAT episodes Ed (Bishop) bleached his head, and from > > what specific point in the series he started to wear the (in) famous > > wig we all love? It works wonderfully. I always liked the "transition" between the
younger and naive Straker and the older and ruthless Straker. I'm sure hair play a major role in this. --- In [hidden email], Marc Martin <marc@...> wrote: > > Jeffrey Nelson wrote: > > Perhaps a goofy question, but was that Ed Bishop's real hair in Confetti Check? > > I've never heard mention of a CONFETTI CHECK A-OK wig, so perhaps they re-dyed > it for this episode? I think his real hair features only in scenes set in 1970. Specifically, the opening scene of Indentified, the whole long flashback in Confetti Check and Ed's appearance driving a car into the body of Catherine in the sepia toned flashback of The Long Sleep. I think when his hair is in the 1980 style, it's always a wig.

Harry, that's the truth. You stole my thoughts: I deduced that
yesterday. Kudos, man! Didn't know or remember about the LONG SLEEP flashback. Anyway, I always loved to death this visual/conceptual dicotomy in Straker's character. --- In [hidden email], zerg harry <zergharry@...> wrote: > > I think his real hair features only in scenes set in 1970. I agree. The wig allowed Straker to age just enough to look 40 and severe instead of 30 and sincere. "From Sincere to Severe- the Ed Straker Story".
