Hi,
what I really do not understand: I am sure that the Italian fanclub has loads of high quality photos or stills of UFO and of the many visits and meetings with the actors, especially Bishop, but also all others. A calendar printing rare stills or in high quality photos of the actors taken by club members would certainly sell like sliced bread! Screenshots however these days most everyone can do her/himself. Cheers A. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

Hmmm, we've only got those 2 months to look at, but it appears to me that the only screenshots are the tiny ones with the episode titles. The rest appear to be publicity photos. But yes, ISOSHADO does have lots of high quality / rare UFO photos, so I would expect some of these to appear on these calendars. Marc |
Dear All,
Thank you for the various comments/questions on our calendars. Marc is right: generally we tend to make our calendars as exclusive as possibile and for the 2011 one almost all picts are not screen shots (except for the episode titles). And yes, our past calendars (2005-2007) also featured photos taken from our meetings, in some cases putting side by side a current photo of an actor/actress with one of his/her original UFO character. Hi Paolo,
so where can one look at the calendar pages to be able to decide whether or not to order it? Cheers An [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

another way to get a screenshot is to run the show in windows movie maker, you can save from there and make screen shots to pics.

As part of an exercise in using spreadsheets – I made a calendar in Lotus 123 and then Excel – but it no longer works in the newer versions of excel. I also made one in FileMaker Pro that still works – and you can set up any layout you want to print it out. I’m sure I could bung in 12 High res UFO/Anderson pics if I had them and work up a layout to what you want. The current layout is set up as an organiser for a small 4 ring binder.

Much easier than pre computer method of an SLR and a slow shutter speed (to allow a full scan to occur) pointed at your TV, with a colour correction filter on the lens.

Calendars... I just re-did February on my calendar.. using one of An Delendirs photoshop pictures of Straker.. it's a beautiful illustration that she has created for her story.
I would love to see more original and well presented art work of this quality. The picture is at the end of 'Fishmonger's Daughter' http://archiveofourown.org/works/141232 And there is yet another great illustration at the end of 'Calan Gaeaf' Certainly worth checking out. http://archiveofourown.org/works/124305 So it is possible to create good pictures that are very different from the usual 'Foster's hairy chest' or 'Gay Ellis stripping off' variety' LtCdr --- In [hidden email], "David Richards" <dcr_au@...> wrote: > > From: An Delendir <andelendir@... <mailto:andelendir%40yahoo.com> > > Subject: AW: [SHADO] Calendar > To: [hidden email] <mailto:SHADO%40yahoogroups.com> > Date: Monday, January 24, 2011, 1:41 AM > > > > Hi, > > what I really do not understand: I am sure that the Italian fanclub has loads of high quality photos or stills of UFO and of the many visits and meetings with the actors, especially Bishop, but also all others. > > A calendar printing rare stills or in high quality photos of the actors taken by club members would certainly sell like sliced bread! > > Screenshots however these days most everyone can do her/himself. > > Cheers > > A. > > |

You've lost me a little here! Are you talking about making photo prints from
still TV images? I just put my Carlton DVD of "UFO" into my laptop, freeze a scene then print it out on 10" x 8" high quality glossy paper. 12 shots would make a nice calendar if you can get the machine to put the edge perforations on, then feed them through a spring holder. I was saying that in the digital age – it’s a lot easier. In the VHS and film camera era – that was the only way you could get screen captures.
Once you have anything digitised and in your computer – you can do anything. I have been converting my old VHS into DVD, and it’s far easier to edit out ads, and tidy up the start and end. Also a lot easier to add titles to other material that doesn’t have them like assorted film clips. You could use a layout that includes correctly placed circles as a guide for a hole punch, as I do with my organiser calendar and then punch the holes out. You could then use those clips that fit through punched holes, e voila!

Using a hole punch could be tricky. The holes would have to be perfectly placed
on all 12 sheets and this wouldn't be easy. I'd probably end up ruining the entire lot! Our calendars are not for sale.
As for all membership bonuses since 1998 to 2011, this year's bonus (the calendar) will be mailed to the ISOSHADO members along with the membership package (which includes name card and name badge, and we are still evaluating to add other bonus items like we did in 2008, 2009 and 2010). Overall, the bonuses we produce in connection with memberships are a token for those who believe in our activity and keep on supporting it. teresa ISOSHADO Da: [hidden email] A: [hidden email] Cc: Data: Mon, 24 Jan 2011 15:56:13 +0000 (GMT) Oggetto: AW: [SHADO] Re: Calendar > Hi Paolo, > > so where can one look at the calendar pages to be able to decide whether or not to order it? > > Cheers > > An > > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > > > > ------------------------------------ > > Yahoo! Just trying to rejig the layout of my organiser calendar design for FileMaker Pro. Unfortunately I set it up as a one week at a time thing. It would need a bit of re-engineering to do one month per page, but not impossible. Just a lot of extra work in setting it up that way. If I get it sorted, I’ll put out a version with blank spaces for your choice of pictures that can be used even if you don’t have FileMaker Pro.

A calendar printing rare stills or in high quality photos of the actors taken by club members would certainly sell like sliced bread! Screenshots however these days most everyone can do her/himself. Heck I don't know if I've been Banned on this Thing or not as Heretic and or Loon... Only... How about UFO Post Cards... I recall way back when... Finding this Star Trek Booklet in a Bookstore... Of the Old TV Series... Had like 60 to Hundred Post Cards in it... 10 to a Page etc... Shots from the Series etc... In which the Page was Perforated... As one could just Tear off the one they wanted... Write something on the Back... Stick a Stamp on it... Drop it in the Mail Box...
