Yeah - good ol' Alec. :-) Court Martial is another good buddy ep for Ed and Alec - especially when the big guy shows up at the shop and Ed calmly steps aside and lets Alec take care of him. Hi all,
We still have a week left on our UFO episode discussions for the episode E.S.P. Anyone have any more comments they'd like to make about this episode? Marc |

Well, I finally got around to watching this one again the other day and came away thinking it is one of the better episodes. Of special note is the acting by all concerned, which I thought was definitely above the average (not saying that the acting in every other episode was bad, mind you). Croxley himself was very well pulled off. Now there's a character which could have gone way over the top, but I thought the actor playing him (whose name escapes me right now) did do a fine job, with only a few scenes where his sweat seemed to be getting the better of him. You really do feel bad for the guy, especially when Straker seems to genuinely want to help him. Also, I have to agree that the aliens (speaking through him) seem to be rather disingenuous when they talk about not wanting to harm humans. I would categorize theft of organs as "harm," but maybe that's just me. Brian |

Hi all,
Our two weeks for discussing the UFO episode E.S.P. have come and gone, so it's time to move onto our next episode -- KILL STRAKER! Anyone have any comments on this episode? Also, if you've got any comments from the new A&E DVD commentary for this episode, feel free to add those as well! Marc |
This is sort of my favourite ep - if only because it was the first one I
ever saw [in German] and it was the first one I ever bought on VHS, an old second hand copy I found on sale in East Ham. I always laugh at the scene in the armoury - at Mike Billington's face as he gets slapped around the place. I heard, I think on Fanderson's UFO documentary, that they didn't tell him it would be as bad as that prior to shooting, but like a true professional he carried on! I also used to find amusement in trying to figure out where Foster was hiding Straker's gun before he confronts him in control sphere, cause that silver outfit doesn't look roomy enough for pockets! The one where Straker really gives Foster a fourpenny one. Apparently Mike didn't know that Ed was going to do it 'for real' and was pretty surprised when it happened. However, he kept his head and kept playing the scene. Good on you, Mike. Dave. |
