Ed Bishop in a Bond movie!

I don't see Ed Bishop as M in a Bond movie personally.
Ed is a very good actor but he mainly plays Americans,
doesn't he? I'm not saying that he couldn't play an
Englishman it's just that I don't see him in the role
of M.

I DO, however, see Ed as the type of actor who could
play a recurring charcater in the Bond movies though.
I think Ed would've made a good Felix Leiter & it
would've been nice to have seen just ONE actor playing
that part in the Bond movies! Ed would've been
excellent, he was an American actor living in England
& the Bond movies were made here too. Maybe he
auditioned or was approached to play the role ... does
anybody know?

I think Ed would fit in well in the current Bond
movies as, say, M's American counterpart - the Head of
the CIA perhaps? I would much rather see Ed as a
recurring character in the Bond movies than Joe Don
Baker's awful Jack Wade (Goldeneye & Tomorrow Never
Dies) & now Michael Madsen's equally ineffective
Damian Falco, Jinx's NSA boss in Die Another Day, who
is, supposedly, to become another recurring character.

I think Ed would be great in a Bond movie as a NASA Mission Control
Technician, or maybe as a guy named Klaus Hergesheimer who checks
radiation badges for a major multinational corporation.

Neil has some good ideas on Ed Bishop's possible participation in a Bond
movie. As I recall, Felix was at least once played by Jack Lord - TV's
McGarrett on Hawaii 5-0!

Returning to Ed in a Bond flick, why not M or some other MI-6 official?
isn't it possible that the CIA and MI-6 could "trade" officials now and
then, as the military has been known to do?
