That's an incredible price for a CD. You would think that Fanderson
would consider a re-release to bring prices down for fans. :) Cheers, Mark http://www.eagletransporter.com/forum/ Classic British Sci Fi Hardware Forum -------------------------------------- |

The copyright holders only allowed them to make that CD on the conditions that it was limited to 1000 copies, and that it only be sold to club members. The 1000 copies were sold, and that's that. Now we must wait and see if a public release ever comes out. Marc |

I'm guessing that most Fanderson members that want the CD already have the CD. I would think that Fanderson is more concerned about Fanderson members, not the general public. Part of what made the CD special in the first place was the very limited availabilty.
Although re-releasing the CD in another limited run exclusively for Fanderson members would be nice. : ) Jeff etdc1999 <[hidden email]> wrote: That's an incredible price for a CD. Why aren't they reissued? What could be the problem with licensing music
from a forty year old cult show, if there's an audience? KK ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

Also, the rights holders are responsible for lots of shows, and may just not see UFO as being a high priority. I believe the next Gerry Anderson related release from Silva Screen is supposed to be Space:1999 year two. And they sure seem to be taking their time in getting it released! Marc |

And they sure > seem to be taking their time in getting it released! They sure are.....! Fanderson have recently stated that the licensing agreement that Silva had with Granada Ventures has expired so I suppose nothing will happen unless or until they renew it. As for as paying $460 for a UFO set on ebay (in the region of £228!!!!), I guess that the buyer either doesn't know that Silva apparently intend to release it eventually. Or he's afraid they won't release it at all, which is also a possibility. Plus, if Silva only issue a single CD there's going to be a lot missing. So he's hedging his bets. If you really want something, you'll pay whatever you can afford I suppose. Simon |
