So it was filmed a week or two after the first Moon Landing. I
wonder if that made the scenes on the Moon a bit more interesting
for cast & crew.

As I recall, the first lunar landing was made by Armstrong and Aldrin July
20, 1969, so the Dalotek Affair was being shot as human history in space was
bring made. Rather nice little bit of serendipity there, eh wot? Also, 1969
was the last year of production for Star Trek (TOS) - its final eps was
broadcast about 6 weeks or so before the lunar landing. Gene Roddenberry was
often heard to say that the lunar landing contributed to Trek's popularity
in syndication because Armstrong and Aldrin whetted the public's appetite
for all things to do with outer space!

Actually those dates are concurrent with the flight of Apollo 11.
Launch was on July 16th 1969, lunar landing was July 20th 1969, and
splashdown was July 24th 1969. So the entire Apollo 11 flight took
place during the filming of "Dalotek Affair".

Star Trek was first broadcast in the UK one week and a day prior to
the first moon landing. Sounds like shrewd scheduling.
