<lurk off (briefly)> <gruff> I am afraid I'll have to say that I too object to 'foisted'. I am very much hoping that you just misused the word. The books aren't out yet so you couldn't have read them and If you don't like comic books just on principal that's fine too but you could at least have refrained from being rude and insulting (not to mention inaccurate). </gruff> Nobody is forcing you to lower yourself to read a comic book if the media is too far beneath you and nobody is trying to pass the comic book off as original UFO. It's new stuff, in a new format and gives a venue where one of the greatest strengths of UFO; its story, can be continued and built upon. You can ignore it if you wish or even bash it if you hate it (once you've actually seen it) but it isn't by any definition of the word being 'foisted' upon anyone. The only term that fits in this situation is 'offered' and anyone has the option to accept or decline that offer. Disparaging it before you've seen it just diminishes you and your credibility, not it. I rather like the idea of UFO comics and will be buying them. While I cannot say that I love it, after all I haven't seen it either, I do love the idea that SOMEBODY has the initiative and creativity to put it together. For that I send my wholehearted encouragement. I'll even put my money where my mouth is and buy the books and if I end up hating them, well that's my problem, at least someone is offering something new that will try... try to entertain, try to be faithful and try to carry on with something we love. I am confident they will succeed there and that I will like the comics. I would even suggest to the more talented people than I, that a graphic novel would be great someday.
