Hi Paramount

I really love the strip. I particularly like the way that it focuses on Gay Ellis (who was criminally underused in the UFO show imho). I think it is interesting that the moonbase trackers are also Interceptor pilots in this strip. I really look forward to seeing more of the strips, its an excellent piece of work :)

Hi Paramount

Yes I noticed the page was blank and that you were having issues loading images from the script.
Thanks for loading the new images though. I really like the way Ellis is drawn, and that new character Suzy Randall also (and its good to see Paul Foster again). I can see why this strip was popular with a lot of UFO fans & FanFic writers etc. You mentioned that some female UFO fanfic writers had given you some risque suggestions for your strip that you had to turn down (I wonder what does ideas were?). Since Gay Ellis & her moonbase crew were brilliantly drawn, I can imagine a lot of female fans were impressed with Straker & Freeman too etc

Hi Paramount

Thanks for your reply, and thanks for the cool pics. Unfortunately I do not know how to deal with the 'blank page' issue you are getting when you try uploading pics (I suppose you could send an email to the webmaster and the forum-administrators to see if they could help). I really like the pics of the MBGs (and particularly Gay Ellis & Suzy R). It is a great strip, and there is some great creativity in the designs (those Dalektrons look both original and amazing). It is great that your strip focuses on the adventures of the female SHADO members (one criticism I have of the UFO show was that there wasn't enough episodes focusing on Gay Ellis & Ayshea etc). Looking at your amazing strip really shows that there is longevity in continuing te UFO franchise (it is a pity that Anderson produced a CGI series of Captain Scarlett in 2000 instead of a CGI continuation of UFO). I really do hope that someday a UFO remake will be produced (whether it is either 'live-action' or CGI etc). If it is CGI I think you would be a great choice as an animator on the project, given how amazing your strip looks :)

BTW - I laughed when I read the kinky ideas that some of the female fans suggested for the strip. I initially thought it would have been something like 'erotic fantasies' involving Straker, Freeman & Foster lustily pursuing the MBGs for romantic entanglements etc. I had no idea that these female fans wanted their 'MBG-Avtars' to be chased & even 'screwed' by lusty sex-crazed Daleks (What the hell! :). And that they weren't really interested in Straker & the other guys chasing them. I really loved the bizzaare suggestion by the overweight ex GO-GO dancer to have a character that conspires to kill off her younger love rivals (was she upset that you told her that you couldn't include this idea in the strip?). Its a pity you didn't include this suggestion because it would have made a great 'whodunnit' subplot in your strip. In fact I  would have loved to seen that all out sexy battle between the MBGs and the Daleks that these female fans had suggested :)
Where there any other 'sexy ideas' suggested by these fans that you had to drop from the strip (and were there any that you regretted leaving out)?

Thanks once again for uploading the pics I am looking forward to seeing what happens next in the strip.

Hi Paramount

I really love the new images you posted (like the blonde 'Lara Croft' character & the 'super-girl' character). They look absolutely amazing (although I confess I do not know who they are in the relation to the story). Maybe you could please provide a quick character list of the characters in the story. I am pasting the panels you are posting into a Word doc and it is turning into a very visually impressive comic strip. I think y should forward this strip onto the folks at the Fanderson site to see if they want to release it as a graphic novel as it is really the most impressive piece of 'fan art' that I have seen (you really are a great artist, and I was very impressed when you mentioned you filmed a 'stop-motion' piece using UFO & Dalek figurines, maybe you should send that clip to Fanderson & co as well to see if they would like to post it on their site).
I was wondering if you could please post the opening panels of the comic strip (I would love to see how this story begins). I laughed when I read those suggestions from the female UFO fans (did you say one of these fangirls was a scientist as well? If that's so I would love to hear her other suggestions for your strip :). Its a pity you couldn't render the 'ex go-go dancer' fangirl's character for the strip (you are correct though there isn't a chef on moonbase as they use 'food dispensers' but I suppose the character could have been scripted as a technician who sabotaged the food dispensers to poison her 'love rivals' among the MBG crew). I liked the other suggestions from the fangirls such as the 'girl-on-girl' punch-ups, and the 'being groped by the dalek's plunger'. I do hope some of these things appear in the strip. I take it that these fangirls also suggested nudity & porno elements as well (It shows that women are 'into sexualisation' just as much as men. I think these type of female sexual fantasies in sci-fi must stem from the common cliches associated with the genre (ie: women getting accosted & carried-off by scary 'bug-eyed monsters' & robots before being rescued by the handsome hero - a common theme in 50's sci-fi movies & comic books etc).
You were right to refuse the suggestions from the fanboys about aliens dissecting the MBGs (that is going too far. Although it would be funny to show a scene where the aliens grab a Dalek out of its armored shell and begin to operate on it).
It's great that you met Gabrielle Drake. She is a great actress and apparently she is a friendly person in real life. It is a pity that her character was under-used a bit in some episodes (that's one of the reason why 'Computer Affair' is my favourite UFO episode which focuses on Lt Ellis). Please do check out my review for this episode on this forum (its a pity this forum is pretty quiet with no-one either posting or replying to posts. It seems that yourself and I are the only 2 people who have been posting on this forum for the last 2 months). I do agree that Ms Drake looks amazing in the purple wig (although I do confess that I love seeing her in her 'natural hair' like at the end of the 'Close Up' episode, and in the 'publicity photo' that was posted at the beginning of the thread). I must check out Miss Drake's other films (particularly some of the 'sex comedies' where apparently she bares all etc). Do you know of any good films featuring Ms Drake that you recommend?
BTW - did Gabrielle Drake ever see your comic strip? If she did I am pretty sure she would have been impressed by your imagery & artwork (even the more sexier images etc).

I am looking forward to seeing more panels from your amazing comic strip ( I have not seen any images of the 'aliens' as yet). I am hoping that the aliens look like the original concept that Anderson was going to use for the series but dropped at the last minute because they were deemed too scary ( ie: 'african-albino' aliens with white hair & the 'green-tinted' skin etc). i have seen the original 'make-up & costume photos' for this alien concept and it looked pretty amazing.

Thank you once again for your amazing work on the UFO comic strip (its like you are single-handedly trying to keep the UFO franchise alive with your work.

Hi Paramount

Thanks for the synopsis and the breakdown of the characters. It seems you have written quite an impressive & epic story involving UFO, Dr Who, SuperGirl & the Greek legend of the Amazon tribe (with visual nods to Lara Croft, and the Avengers - ie : Ros Ackland's  black latex catsuit is reminiscent of Emma Peel's outfit etc), and of course not to mention the cameos of Robbie the Robot & the 'Lost-in-Space robot' etc. With a story that encompasses so many franchises I think you should be sharing your strip with the Dr Who, Supergirl fansites, as I am sure those fans would love to see this strip (and particularly your own original additions ie: the Dalektrons etc). I think they would be all very impressed with your amazing work.
I really like the artwork on Ros Ackland (gotta love the Catsuit - if only that outfit made an appearance in the original UFO show).
I also like the rendering of the aliens in the last 2 panels you uploaded. I am looking forward to seeing more from them n later uploads (I wonder what they think of all this Dalek & SuperGirl malarkey going on in moonbase - lol). I am also looking forward to seeing this 'MBG punch-up' which sounds like a lot of fun. I also wonder will see Straker himself appear in the story?

It is true that you are helping to keep the UFO franchise alive with your amazing. It is a shame that your strip isn't posted on the other UFO fansites (ie: Shado Library, Fanderson etc). I think your hard work deserves much more recognition among the UFO fanbase imho

Hi Paramount

Thanks for the new renders.Yes I really like the catsuits in your story (particularly the one that new character Pandora is wearing, she is certainly a welcome addition to the story as she seems like an interesting character). Its a pity Sylvia Anderson didn't try to use the black catsuit as an alternative SHADO uniform for the female operatives to wear (I suppose she could have made it more utilitarian looking with a gun-belt and side pockets etc) as it would have looked very striking in the series. It certainly looks very striking and impressive in your strip :)

Your background also sounds very interest with your relatives being involved in the swinging 60's fashion circuit (you must have some amazing stories to tell about the celebrity, music & fashion scene etc). I wonder what your fashion-concious relations thought about Sylvia Anderson and her work on UFO with the  futuristic costumes and fashions (I wonder did they also think that the Nehru suits would be worn by company executives in the 1980s?)

I do hope you someday share your epic strip with the Dr Who, Fanderson & Supergirl fansites as I think your amazing strip deserves  lot more recognition given the amount of effort you put into it (I mean no less than 50 pages of a synopsis, what the hell :).

Hi Paramount

Thank you for uploading the pics. The MBGs really look great in their latex gear. I have to admit it sounds like you had an amazing childhood surrounded by those models your uncles worked with. That Tina sounded like an amazing girl & a good laugh. I sure do hope she eventually got herself that house in the country that she wanted. She also must have looked pretty amazing going by your description of her.  I wonder if your uncles took many photos of her in their work that has still survived etc. She sounds like a good contender for 'character render' should you ever decide to create a sequel UFO strip etc.  BTW - what was the 'Playmate' club (was it a UK version of the Playboy magazine)?  I also wonder what did your Uncles & the Models thought of the UFO show? Do you know if they ever watched the show?

Hi Paramunt

Thanks for the latest pics (I think they are the best yet. I have to admit I really like that 'between the legs shot' of Niaka talking to that MBG Colby). BTW I really like that new character Niaka. She is amazingly rendered. I only wish there was a character like her in the show ( gotta love that red Latex uniform :). I look forward to seeing more from her (I hope she survives the attack from Colby).

I am sorry for misreading your previous post re: your uncles. I thought they were fashion photographers on the side with all those lovely models hanging around etc. I have to admit you come from both an interesting and envious background. It sounds like those girls were great fun (particularly the girl named Tina). I do hope they got what they wanted from their modelling careers (and retired to the country etc).

I had to laugh when I read about your experience with the 'Marilyn Monroe' lookalike. It reminded me of an encounter I had with a burlesque dancer at the Soho 'Box' a few years ago. She was part of the entertainment there and had finished her dancing stint (which I had missed as I was in a different part of the club at the time). However I was drawn to her and so I chatted her up. I was very impressed with her as she too was a dead-ringer for Marilyn Monroe. She was very flattered when I told her as she actually thought she looked more like some cabaret performer she called 'Lady Va-Voom' (or something like that) whom she modeled herself on. She could even sing in Marilyn's voice (she gave me an example when I asked her) which was really impressive when you consider that this girl was originally from Lithuania who had moved to England recently - lol. Regardless to say I was very smitten with her and I was fortunate enough to spend the night with her when she took me back to her friends place (she lived outside of London and was staying at her friends in London that weekend). I really liked her and I wanted to pursue a relationship with her but she just wanted a 'one night stand' (maybe she had a boyfriend back home) so I never saw her again unfortunately. But at least you had a chance of a relationship with your 'Marilyn' but you went & abandoned her (shame on you for doing that but I can understand as any women who is fortunate enough to look like Marilyn will make any man feel nervous etc).

I just hope your girl didn't feel too abandoned by your rejection to go the  same way as the real Marilyn (ie: drink & drugs etc :(

Looking forward to seeing more pics of the strip (I do hope Niaka recovers OK from the attack :)

Hi Paramount

Thank you for the latest uploads. That is one epic fight between Niaka and MBG Colby. I absolutely love the fight (what red-blooded male wouldn't. I just hope Niaka doesn't get killed in the fight). And please don't omit any swearing or blaspheming from the strip, that only adds to the spectacle of the fight - lol :).
You really rendered a great fight scene in your pics (if only the UFO series had such a girl fight - lol. I am surprised no-one's wig has fallen off so far).

I didn't know you were such a young lad when 'Mairlyn' proposed an affair with you so I can understand why you rejected her (its a nice story though of love that could never be :) And thanks for the story re: the sc-fi go-go girl giving you a black lip (I didn't know you studied at dance school as well. Its no wonder you were always surrounded by such lovely women). Btw did you meet your wife at the dance school to? Was she a dancer as well?

I have not been to the Soho 'Box' club in years. I do not know if it will ever re-open due to the pandemic etc. I always remember it was always very hard to get into if you weren't on the list. You sort of just waited around outside until the main 'host' would pop his head out the door and decided to let you in (based on whether he liked how you looked or if he is trying to make up the numbers inside etc). Sometimes I got in, sometimes I didn't. It was a nice club and it was free in (although the price of the drinks were extortionate :(

Btw I know the Bond Movie poster that inspired the 'through the legs shot' which you rendered in your previous upload. It was 'Four Your Eyes Only' (a terrible movie but a great poster nevertheless :)

Re: Franco Derosa, original UFO Moonbase Commander

Clare Cross
Having read most of the previous two pages with growing incredulity, I am just wondering why this thread has been hi-jacked by a couple of fantasists who, judging from their posts, seem to have great difficulty separating fact from fiction.  Indeed, I am tempted to suggest that shado-cabinet and paramount99 may in fact be one and the same person (as there are marked similarities between their writing styles and presentation) simply talking to himself.  Self-gratification indeed.  I'll be the first to admit that there is certainly a place out there for puerile, sex-obsessed cartoons... but is it on this forum?

Re: Franco Derosa, original UFO Moonbase Commander

Shado-cabinet

If you think that both Paramount99 & myself are same person who wants to waste his time by uploading pics from a comic strip that he already owns only for the benefit of himself to read and comment on it then I think that it is you that has difficulty separating fact from fiction.

The comic strip that Paramount99 has been uploading is UFO fanfic that has been developed by himself (and has been contributed to by other male & female fans). I am surprised that you have not heard of the project, nor that you have contributed to it in anyway.

The comic strip does not contain any nudity or any serious profanity. It does contain a lot of strong female characters (based on suggestions made by other female UFO fans) who also appear to be scantily dressed. This is not surprising since the UFO show itself contains strong sexual themes with plenty of scantily dressed men & women (as per your profile pic which also coveys a close-up shot of Lt Ellis's chest & torso). Plus this thread in question was originally about a press release pack for the UFO show which shows pics of sexually dressed women & a hunky guy with a 'PR blurp' that reads : "Sex is here to stay..........in Gerry & Sylvia Anderson's latest production.........UFO"

Paramount also takes down the pics he has uploaded after a while anyway. So he & I are hardly hijacking a thread on a forum which has been literally dormant for months.
