Front of Shado HQ

Hi,

I am I right in saying that the front of Shado HQ is being used in the pubic
information advert in the UK ?

For those outside the UK, the UK Government has prepared a booklet about
what to do in an emergency (terrorist threat etc..) and every home has had
one delivered.

This booklet has been backed up with an information film showing everyday
things around us that are there for emergencies and it starts showing a
cyclist wearing a saftey helmet in front of what looks like Shado HQ.

My reasoning behind this is as follows, if the Government commisioned the
BBC to do the film they may have filmed around the building used for the BBC
programme Eastenders (UK soap) which was Shado HQ !

I may be wrong as the clip is very short, any comments ?

Keith, in what way is the old Harlington / Straker building used in East Enders?

Hi,

I saw a programme many years ago on the making of Eastenders, the building
was used for rehearsals by the shows actors.

I also read this somewhere, perhaps the UFO web site.

I have been watching BBC programming in the US for about 30yrs. UFO, Dr. Who, and other BBC programmes dont usually have large budgets so sometimes you see old props and sets that look familiar. It is why UFO had such great actors. bsl

It's not used in Eastenders, it's merely BBC Elstree where most of in house
production takes place. It's also doubled for hotel buildings in The Saint
and far more in other series too numerous to count.

I thought that the front of SHADO headquaarters WAS the front of the
Elstree Studios, re-dressed a bit (e.g. putting up "Harlingington
Straker Studios" signs).
