Hi everyone,

I was wondering if you have any information about the deaths of Ed and Michael in 2005. How old were they and what were the causes of death? Michael always looked quite fit and I believe he was once considered for the partof James Bond? He would have been brilliant (better than Timothy Dalton atany rate).

Are you into any other TV sci-fi stuff? I love the original series of STAR TREK. Remember a series called THE INVADERS which starred Roy Thinnes? I think he was in Gerry Anderson's film, wasn't he? I liked the first season ofSPACE 1999 with Barry Morse (is he still alive?). The series went downhillwhen Catherine Schell joined the cast.
Never been a great fan of DOCTOR WHO, surprisingly but I know some people are fanatical about it!

Some critics have commented that UFO lacks warmth and humour, but this isprecisely what I like about it. I like sci-fi to be deadly serious and any humour should be incidental (for example, when Dr. Jackson says something like "unfortunately you'll live" to Straker in THE PSYCHOBOMBS). Freeman always appeared like the type of bloke you could have a good drinking session with and a laugh.

The political incorrectness of UFO always makes me smile, especially all the smoking, but as Gerry said nobody really knew about the harmful effects in those days. What about those moonhoppers? Aren't they brilliant? I want one for Christmas!!

All The Best,

BRIAN

Barry Morse died last year. Billington did make it into a Bond film, but died during the first action sequence, The Spy who Loved Me.

Of course you know Ed Bishop did some speaking parts in Star Trek, the animated series??

Ed Bishop was also in Stanley Kubrick's 2001, as the pilot of the shuttle going to the space station (i think!), but most of the scene was cut. I hope that one day they are going to bring out the full version of the film!

Ed Bishop was almost 73 years old, and Mike Billington
was 64.

Officially, Ed died of a "chest infection" while at the
hospital, but rumors were that he had leukemia for years
but did not tell anyone.

Mike Billington also died oefore his death.
f cancer, and also did not
publicize this in the years b

Sorry, my email program mangled my message right as I
was hitting "send"... that should have read:

Lol was wondering how you could die before your death - or was the second
death just a curtaincall?

Some sites say Bay Ridge, but I'm not sure what the source of that
info is...

I don't know... all I can find is this:

"Ed Bishop was born George Victor Bishop at the Shore Road Hospital in
Brooklyn on June 11th, 1932, the son of a Manhattan banker"

Yep, found that too. Tried to look for a birth certificate, but only the person on the certificate can get a copy of, which if you think about it, is a good thing. Talking Identity theft. I never heard of Shore Road Hospital. A quick internet search says it closed back in the 50's
