Fw: Fw: [SHADO] Neil McDonough as Ed Straker

Brian Serridge
How about Ernest Borgnine as Straker? Now he's RUGGED!! Is he still alive though? Doesn't matter if he isn't - he'll still have more charisma!!

All the best,

BRIAN

Well, as everyone else is on this subject...

I STILL think that Ed Harris would be the best Straker after Ed Bishop. He certainly has charisma, is GREAT at portraying leading roles: Apollo 13, The Abyss, The Right Stuff, The Truman Show, etc. etc...

Okay, he's on the senior side, and is nearly bald, but if the producers' ofthe new movie are taking a hint from Century 21 Fashions, by wearing a 'piece' as in Apollo 13, I think he'd make a fantastic Straker. He's about theonly actor I can think of in the current actor line-up who has ANY authority at all - and that after all is what Straker was all about. As with "The Abyss", he can portray a certain vulnerability when needed...

...his face looks vaguely like the 'Real' Ed Bishop Straker.

Regards, Griff

If the producers of UFO want to have a successful UFO film, then they have to base the film on the original series. Otherwise they might as well call it 'Oh Look...there' s something up there inthe Sky'! Just as they should have called the Thinderbirds film; Alan Tracy- SchoolBoy Hero!
