Hi all,
The following email looks like it was intended to be sent to the SHADO list, not me (as it was) Marc -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: SkyDiver Jet Re-Docking Procedure Date: Wed, 12 Oct 2005 05:08:25 -0000 From: rchrd_cmbs <[hidden email]> Thanks guys for shedding light on my 'set-revealled' question, another quandry, how does Skydiver Jet re-dock with the main Sub? I believe there are a number of Skydiver versions, but given the top secret nature of Skydiver and its very existence returning to port each time for this complex procedure could compromise things a touch, also fuel may be an issue if the jet is unable to land or re-dock. Does the jet have the ability to re-dock if the sub re-surfaces, or perhaps more amazing beneath the sea via some form of retro rocket or capture system??? Can anyone shed light on this Shado for me?? |

Similar to a mid-air refuelling exercise, in a way. James -- Dig It : a forum for Euro Beatles fans - http://beatles.dyndns.org/ |

Sky 1 re-docking procedures.
There are really several thoughts on this. My belief is the following. One that Sky 1 has to land on both water and land. In one episode, Foster is flying Sky 1 back to base while another is heading to Diver, hence the one Foster is flying would be going to a secure land base, and the other would be meeting Diver at sea. Landing on water, Sky would appear to be not balanced for the task. However, if the stall speed was slow enough and a pitch up attitude, then it might be able to slow down enough, to keep from tipping over. Landing in clam seas would be a must and Diver could easily, with sonar and radar, have enough of a secure area to re-dock or re-attach it self to Diver. The most probable way would be to have Sky stationary and Diver approach fron the rear. Attach cables or grapling bars to attach it-self to the rear of Sky and pull in back into Diver. Re-Fueling would be fairly straight forward as the engines in Sky appear to be liquid propellant. Hence able to burn or ignite under water. Just a few thought's. Agreed. Liquid, and probably hypergolic to boot...

I think a simple "Rear Ending" proceedure !
Obviously actioned in a horizontal position.........................Of both Craft ? :) Jeffrey Nelson <[hidden email]> wrote: Agreed. Liquid, and probably hypergolic to boot...
