Hi all
I don't know if anyone remembers me (hope so!) but I'm back with you great UFO fans. I signed off about a year ago as I had become ill - but I'm now much better and looking forwrd to UFO based chat and banter again. I wanted to let the few that mighty have wondered about the illness etc to know (the coming out of the closet bit) why I had vanished... Well, basically, I am a haemophiliac (genetic blood clotting disorder), and thanks to badly screened UK blood products - had got a nasty virus called hepatitis 'c'. This affects the liver - and I was ill for some time - as it transpired I had been given the virus many years ago. Well, I went on a course of chemotherapy called 'Interferon' and it made me eve more ill, hencve my departure from the web. I was scared to tell people the nature of my illness at the time, as its stigmatised with what we know as the three 'H's - Haemophiliacs, Heroin users and Homosexuals. Well, maybe that was wrong of me, but i am happy to say the 'Interferon' worked - and the virus has gone!! It was a one in 5 chance it would work, and I had the good news today:) Enough about me - just to say - I miss the good old days of FAB-UFO and I hope all you great people are still out there! I'm looking forward to talking to folks about my favourite show of all time - and hope its just as much fun as it was a year ago! I still have the savings put aside for Ed' car - whatever happened to that!!!? All best regards Tony |

Welcome back Tony!
I'm glad to hear you're much better! As for Straker's car, I haven't heard any news on that for quite some time! Certainly nothing since you unsubscribed. We did find Doppelganger car#3, however, as it turned up for sale in an auto magazine! (misreported as being Straker's car -- http://ufoseries.com/temp/carArticle.jpg) Also, I heard that the fellow who owned Foster's car lost interest in UFO, so I don't know if that means he wants to sell the car or not! -- Marc Martin, [hidden email] |

What? Why would Haemophilia be stigmatised? It's a hereditary disease, isn't it? Richard Burton had it. > Well, maybe that was wrong of me, but i am happy to say the > 'Interferon' worked - and the virus has gone!! Do you have access to satellite television, Tony? UFO can be seen on Sundays, 6 p.m. on the Sci-Fi channel. > >I wanted to let the few that mighty have wondered about the illness etc >to know (the coming out of the closet bit) why I had vanished... > >Well, basically, I am a haemophiliac (genetic blood clotting disorder), >and thanks to badly screened UK blood products - had got a nasty virus >called hepatitis 'c'. > >This affects the liver - and I was ill for some time - as it transpired >I had been given the virus many years ago. > >Well, I went on a course of chemotherapy called 'Interferon' and it >made me eve more ill, hencve my departure from the web. Well, I really don't know why you should be in the closet over this illness. I know someone who is HIV + and is fighting against getting full blown AIDS and he isn't keeping himself in the closet. He's bloody-minded and brave.:-) > >Well, maybe that was wrong of me, but i am happy to say the >'Interferon' worked - and the virus has gone!! > >It was a one in 5 chance it would work, and I had the good news today:) >Enough about me - just to say - I miss the good old days of FAB-UFO and >I hope all you great people are still out there! Well, it's no longer fab-ufo but SHADO is prospering at the moment. Aren't you in Scotland? -- Suzanne Sutherland La Grande |
