Hippy astronaut & robot sidekick

Ken Parker <shadokp@attbi.com>
I'm pretty sure I no longer have these on tape but it was not MST3K -
it was an extremely low budget, complete with 80's hairstyle intros
that I found on some UFO tapes that I had in the early 90's. I will
check to see if any still exist but I did upgrade my UFO's with
copies from the Laserdiscs in the mid- 90's

They didn't have intros calling it Starship 69, did they? When UFO ran
on Channel 69 in Atlanta in the late 80's they had a doofus rocker guy
introducing them and he might have had a robot sidekick. I had tapes of
some of them, but it was quite a while ago.

I recall seeing this back in the 80's on my trips to Atlanta to visit my
sister. UFO was shown one day and Space:1999 the next in rotation. The host
did have some kind of a sidekick who I think was a robot. I also think they
had a audience of kids if I remember correctly. It made me grind my teeth.
But it was a chance to watch UFO again after more than ten years without
seeing it.

You can get turbo-lighters that shoot green flame like a jet
afterburner these days, but I reckon Straker might well use a
Zippo. Though not with a picture of himself on it.
