Did you ever notice how easy going Henderson was in Confetti Check A-
OK? And what a pompous ass he was in later episodes? What are your favorite Henderson moments??? And what about Dr. Doug Jackson? What made him change over to Henderson's side of the fence? More recognition? More pay? More people to analyze? Hmmmmmm??? |

Ok as i understood it after his crash and Ed Strakers brilliant success in convincing the "powers that be" of the need for Shado and being told that the only person they wanted to run Shado was Straker... who wouldn't be mad at losing a top job? And as for Jackson well what better place than working for both since Henderson was the man with the purse strings .... |

Jackson started out on Henderson's side, but when he laughed at Straker's playing back the recording of Henderson saying "You think I'm a cretinous lout, don't you?", Henderson booted him over to SHADO ....... As for Henderson, he took on the burden of overseeing funding, that's what turned him into an ass - he lost touch with the day-to-day ufoe combat ... You're just a bunch of spineless gutless sheep, the lot of ya' MMMMAAAAAAAAAAA! MMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! MMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAA! That has got to be my ultimate Henderson moment. I see you are talking about my beloved Dr Jackson. He certainly got around a lot, didn't he? Let's see, he seemed to do a bit of a shuffling act. First we see him in Exposed working for SHADO and then he's one of Henderson's cronies in Court Martial and then he's back at SHADO for the rest of the episodes. Well, SHADO and the IAC are two separate organisations but I don't think it is that unusual for a man with all the talents that Dr Jackson has to go and flit between them. Let's face it, in Court Martial it's pretty serious for someone in SHADO to go leaking information. I mean, the IAC has a vested interest in SHADO. Too darn right they get right on to it. And they want the best man for the job and Douggie's the man. I really don't think it would take too much convincing to get him on Henderson's side. The General knows this little Polish restaurant and Jackson just can't resist the home-made kielbasa with sauerkraut washed down with a nice slurp of Bull's Blood. There's one fat waitress there who waits on him...... But that's another story;-) -- Suzanne Sutherland The Fat Fetuccine Mama |

The Henderson debate rages on... > No-no - Henderson was offered the job, but felt he was too old and > banged up to take it on - he offered the job to Straker ... > > Am I right?? Anyone?? >That is how it seems to me too. >Sheila That's how I've always felt, too. I think Henderson did a complete turnaround. Straker saved his arse. Henderson knew only he could get the appropriations to get SHADO started. And he felt (along with everyone else) that Straker was the only man for the job. Henderson was just as interested in getting all the funds they need to operate SHADO as Straker was. He seemed to look upon Starker as his son. And then in subsequent episodes, he was completely different. "Yes well, that's my opinion anyway...And the same to you, superintendent!" -Kent [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

I remember someone writing that in the later episodes the actor who played Henderson had cancer. (I am sorry if I remembered something wrongly.) If so, some sympathy is due and some recognition that surely that would have had some effect on how the actor portrayed the character. |
