Hi
I edit the Gerry Anderson Complete Comic History website: http://www.technodelic.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Home.htm - and would like to run a feature on the Italian photonovel magazines and home-spun 'pseudo-UFO' comics. Eighteen of the episodes were adapted as b/w photostories, and I have access to all of these, but translating them is awkward and slow, and wondered if there are any Italian fans on the board whose English is good enough to assist in coverage. The 'pseudo-UFO' comics were like digest-size or pocket-libraries, and a fair number used reference photos from 'UFO' for the covers, and some craft like interceptors and mobiles, but there all similarity to the series ended. The characters and format were wildly different, but again I'd like to do a small feature on these so if any Italian fans collected or read them, assistance in researching and compiling it would be greatly appreciated. I have added a picture of one of the covers in the photo section, in an album called 'UFO Comics'. I can be contacted through the website, or here at the group. Thanks in advance, Shaqui The Gerry Anderson Complete Comic History http://www.technodelic.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Home.htm . |
Dear Shaqui,
I'm an Italian fan of UFO, who knows the English language quite well, having lived two years in London and having also een a translator. I might be the person you are looking for, and I would be very pleased to assist you on translating those comics. By the way, as I was a child, I had a couple of issues of the UFO Italian comics published by Edifumetto, and I still must have some in my garage. I was recently thinking to buy the entire collection as another Italian publisher re-issued the whole series, and I probably will. I am not quite sure if we are speaking of the same comics, but as I said, being such a fan of UFO and related issues, I will surely like to help you with magazines and comics you need to translate. Hi Guy & all.
Are you referring to: http://www.isoshado.org/6/6_merchandise_archivio/i_film_di_ufo.htm and/or to: http://www.isoshado.org/6/6_merchandise_archivio/comics_it.htm ? teresa [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
Hi Teresa,
I'm not sure which of the two Shaqui is referring, but I will know something more as soon as he will reply. You will surely know there is a publisher who reissued the Edifumetto comics: http://www.alessandroeditore.it/libreria.phtml? TAB=LIB10&EDITORE=EDIFUMETTO&COLLANA=SERIE%20COMPLETE% 20EDIFUMETTO&SHOWALL=1 I haven't found any source on how to get the Romana Editrice series, which is the one I must have a couple of issues in my garage. By the way browsing on your web site I found the album of the "Figurine Panini" that I had at that time. If only my mum wasn't so tidy, I would probably still have it too. :-(. Any chance of getting a copy...? Hi Teresa,
Having checked on Isoshado, I must assume Shaqui is referring to the Edifumetto one, which, by the way is now been republished according to the information on this web page: http://www.alessandroeditore.it/libreria.phtml? TAB=LIB10&EDITORE=EDIFUMETTO&COLLANA=SERIE%20COMPLETE% 20EDIFUMETTO&SHOWALL=1 Browsing the publishing section of Isoshado, I found back the album of the "Figurine Panini" my mum sadly disposed when I was a kid. :-( Guy --- In [hidden email], "Teresa - ISOSHADO" <teresa.cerana@...> wrote: > > Hi Guy & all. > > Are you referring to: > > http://www.isoshado.org/6/6_merchandise_archivio/i_film_di_ufo.htm > > and/or to: > > http://www.isoshado.org/6/6_merchandise_archivio/comics_it.htm > > ? > > teresa > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > |
ok, thank you.
I was told that the Edifumetto ones have only a *few* references to *our* UFO. thank you again. t. PS: sorry for the disposed Panini Album... ----- Original Message ----- Hi Teresa, Having checked on Isoshado, I must assume Shaqui is referring to the Edifumetto one, which, by the way is now been republished according to the information on this web page: http://www.alessandroeditore.it/libreria.phtml? In fact, as Shaqui already said, the Ufo Comics published by
Edifumetto has very few references to the Ufo TV series. But still fascinating as far as concerns quality of drawings. As far as I remember, a part from the look of Straker, who has a different name, the headquarter of that organization was in Switzerland, and has got completely different vehicles and facilities. The character supposed to be Gay Ellis is blond and called Alma Rogers (quite a beauty too though). ps: I must assume that you, or Malaguti have the completed "Panini Album" filed. Do you think I can have a look, when I will be able to visit the Isoshado headquarter? --- In [hidden email], "Teresa - ISOSHADO" <teresa.cerana@...> wrote: > > ok, thank you. > I was told that the Edifumetto ones have only a *few* references to *our* > UFO. > thank you again. t. > > PS: sorry for the disposed Panini Album... > > ----- Original Message ----- > Hi Teresa, > > Having checked on Isoshado, I must assume Shaqui is referring to the > Edifumetto one, which, by the way is now been republished according > to the information on this web page: > > http://www.alessandroeditore.it/libreria.phtml? > TAB=LIB10&EDITORE=EDIFUMETTO&COLLANA=SERIE%20COMPLETE% > 20EDIFUMETTO&SHOWALL=1 > > Browsing the publishing section of Isoshado, I found back the album > of the "Figurine Panini" my mum sadly disposed when I was a kid. > > :-( > > Guy > |
