Okay, you're on.

I have not thought this out too much and have only come with six so far but what
a six.

My top six TV sci-fi guys so far in no order of importance.

Steve Austin = Lee Majors. This guy had a huge impact on me as a confused child
and still does.

Ed Straker= Ed Bishop I can't much that I haven't already said about Ed; just
what an act.

Paul Foster= Michael Billington A man's man; he's a Test Pilot and Astronaut for
goodness sake!

No Six / John Drake= Patrick McGoohan= He gave us The Prisoner, I can't say
anything else because it is superb.

Craig Sterling= Stuart Damon The man just doesn't age!

Bodie= Lewis Collins; not strictly a sci-fi actor but tough and he did TV sit
com too. Great flare for fashion too.

Howdy,

I remember Arlene Martel from an earlier science fiction appearance as Consuelo Biros in The Outer Limits - The Demon With a Glass Hand.

What am I thinking? Yes, you are correct. I have just remembered Anette Andre
from Hopkirk Deceased. Alexandra Bastedo yes, of course. I had quite a thing for
Susan Penhaligon too. Which actress from TP? Was it the beautiful black woman I
recall? She had a bit of an impact on me and certainly the best looking and
mature character apart from dull poloneck John...

As I agree with your selection, you have to admire Linda Thorson as well as top
60's tv totty Diana Rigg. Also several Companions from Dr Who, as well as W
Padbury. Perry comes to mind (can't think of her name right now) Kate Ford from
Pertwee's season and her predecessor Dr Liz, someone ( actress' name escapes
me).

Caught a few minutes of this programme tonight which featured an item about the
history of nylon. Strangely enough, the psychedelic 60's were illustrated with a

clip from UFO!. It was the bit showing Gay Ellis changing into her miniskirt
uniform. Boy!, did the BBC clip look worn out - lots of grainy film, fluff etc.

My favourite UFO moment is at the end of The Square Triangle when Straker is
explaining to the couple sipping coffee about the amnesia drug being colourless
and, of course, tasteless:). I love the moment when they both realise that it
was in their drinks all along and Straker asks "More coffee?". Brilliant!.

i will agree with the six million dollar man lee majors. he was the first super hero,[yes he does qualify because of being a cyborg] that actually was empathetic, thoughtful and excessively violent when needed to be. a very good role model.  case in point, the fight with bigfoot, and the venus probe dilemma, also he let jaimie summers go when she didnt love him anymore.
in contrast to this , simular looking but not in characture is the wanna be lee majors guy who played in buck rogers with that annoying little timebomb tweaky.

Re: James May's 20th century/favourite UFO moment

In reply to this post by J A
i have a ufo issue,.....when paul and the alien were making thier way back to moonbase, the other monnbase rescue team shot the alien on sight, paul, felt sympathy for that alien, but review the aliens actions. from the start, it was hostile to paul and only wanted information on moonbase  or to infiltrate it and maybe destroy it. after that incident, there was an attack on the moonbase.
the possible friendship between paul and the alien might have only been a ruse, playing on human emotions and characture, to gain entrance with an expendable human jigsaw puppet, to get into moonbase and destroy it.
now, in another episode, an alien possessed human screams ''it is a matter of survival !!!''
so, whatever the aliens really are, they are not sympathetic to humans, and are non human entities. this opens up a whole new veiwpoint for fan based media u.f.o. series juandra.
another favorite scene is the general yelling at straker ''yer all a bunch of spineless sheep, mwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-a--a-a-a-ah mwaaaaaaaaaaaa-a--a-a-ah!''
probably the last thing that straker wanted to hear. demonstrating the alien's contemp for humans.

Caught a few minutes of this programme tonight which featured an item about the history of nylon. Strangely enough, the psychedelic 60's were illustrated with a clip from UFO!. It was the bit showing Gay Ellis changing into her miniskirt uniform. Boy!, did the BBC clip look worn out - lots of grainy film, fluff etc.

My favourite UFO moment is at the end of The Square Triangle when Straker is explaining to the couple sipping coffee about the amnesia drug being colourless and, of course, tasteless:). I love the moment when they both realise that it was in their drinks all along and Straker asks "More coffee?". Brilliant!.

I don't get it; at the start of the series General Henderson & Straker are like
best buddies but for the rest of the series they are baying for each others
blood.

i have a ufo issue,.....when paul and the alien were making thier way back to
moonbase, the other monnbase rescue team shot the alien on sight, paul, felt
sympathy for that alien, but review the aliens actions. from the start, it was
hostile to paul and only wanted information on moonbase  or to infiltrate it and
maybe destroy it. after that incident, there was an attack on the moonbase.
the possible friendship between paul and the alien might have only been a ruse,
playing on human emotions and characture, to gain entrance with an expendable
human jigsaw puppet, to get into moonbase and destroy it.
now, in another episode, an alien possessed human screams ''it is a matter of
survival !!!''
so, whatever the aliens really are, they are not sympathetic to humans, and are
non human entities. this opens up a whole new veiwpoint for fan based media
u.f.o. series juandra.

another favorite scene is the general yelling at straker ''yer all a bunch of
spineless sheep, mwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-a--a-a-a-ah mwaaaaaaaaaaaa-a--a-a-ah!''
probably the last thing that straker wanted to hear. demonstrating the alien's
contemp for humans.

The problem with groups like this one where it attracts interest from both sides of the Atlantic Pond...... some shows that are referenced may not have been available for viewing on both sides :)

I rather enjoyed Buck Rogers in the 25 Century.

I don't know which I liked more, Erin Gray in her skin tight outfits or Pamela Hensley in her barely covering outfits :)

I do enjoy watching Gil Gerard for how he played the part.  William Conrad for his narration. And playing the voice of Twiki, Mel Blanc (that's all folks:)

i will agree with the six million dollar man lee majors. he was the first super hero,[yes he does qualify because of being a cyborg] that actually was empathetic, thoughtful and excessively violent when needed to be. a very good role model. Â case in point, the fight with bigfoot, and the venus probe dilemma, also he let jaimie summers go when she didnt love him anymore.
in contrast to this , simular looking but not in characture is the wanna be lee majors guy who played in buck rogers with that annoying little timebomb tweaky.

  Â
