Lift of With Ashyea

Bill Adkins
Found this web site on a Google search for Ayshea. No photos of her
on the site but I was wondering if anyone knows about this 1972
show?

Yes, I remember the show and remember the performance by David Bowie. (check
the link)

It was a topical pop music show for kids (I am sure it was made by Granada
TV in the UK) with Ayshea at the helm. She also wore the large letter 'A'
necklace just as in UFO.

I can not remember how long it ran for, but do remember that I had a Lift
Off badge from the show. (I lived within one mile of the studios in my youth
and visited as often as I could)

Also - watching a programme on UK TV last night '100 Greatest TV Characters'
I am sure I saw Ayshea with Jason King from Department S in a clip from the
show.

I too remember Lift Off. From what I recall it was in the afternoons
about 4:30pm. Just in time for us coming home from school.

I think it had most of the main acts for the day but we didn't know
some of them would become legends then so we didn't view the
performances as ground breaking at the time.

Ayshea herself may have memories of the show. I asssume she's still
around. Not sure what happened to Owlie.

Ayshea is living in the United States. She has or had a interior design firm
in California for a time. She now is doing motivational speaking. She
changes her late name a lot a guess due to marriages. She was born Ayshea Hague
but just used Ayshea professionally. Then she became Ayshea Brough. She might
or might not have been Ayshea Woods. She was in the early 80's using the
name Ayshea Leigh when she appeared in the movie "Gotcha!" She is in this for
about one second as a singer on star and the put a rock soundtrack song on over
her singing so if you blink you miss her. But the movie's producer Michael
Levy fell in love with her and she soon became Ayshea Levy. That didn't last
and she is now using the name Ayshea Dehauilland.

Hmm, interesting piccy of Bowie. I actually know the Ronson family
pretty well, although I never met David (my mother, however, was his
sunday school teacher for many years).

But I digress...

Yes, I recall Lift Off, as do many others of a certain age in Britain I
think. Ayshea was compere, naturally. But they also had a dreadful
dance foursome rejoicing in the name of Guy Lutman and The Feet.
Actually, I suppose they were no worse than their contemporaries; but
let's face it, any 70s dancing assemblage looks embarrasing now.

Their was also a foul abomination, Ollie Beak, a puppet owl. He
appeared together with his partner, folkie Wally Whyton (sp?), weekly.

Ayshea also had a "Lift Off with Ayshea" weekly column in the
childrens mag/comic Look-In.

And she was just as yummy in Lift Off as she was in UFO, although
sans tight catsuits :(

What exactly does this do?

I clicked on it, it went to a blank page and downloaded a whole lot of
stuff (over 600,000 bytes worth), and then completely dissappeared.....

I can't figure out what it gave me, or where all those bytes went.....

It gives you a Quicktime movie showing Ayshea giving a "motivational"
speech (perhaps you need to install Quicktime?). In the past, I've
tried contacting the producer of the video to get a video copy of it,
but haven't gotten anywhere (he always says he needs to check if he can
get permission, but never follows up).

I've also tried to find the book the video refers to (which Ayshea
wrote), but I've never found that either.

Apperntly it is now a dead link since it doesn't even "open" now. Just tried to check it out, and it gave me a Error 404 Site not found message, then a blank page with the little "Broke" symbol in the corner.

Hmmm, just tried it, worked fine for me...

Can you access the main site?

http://www.andrechampagne.com/

If so, click on "Video" on the sidebar, and scroll down the page a bit.
She's there, and from the video it is obviously *our* Ayshea... (and
the producer confirmed it to me in an email)

Its still there and it still works. Make sure you have the latest IE
and the quicktime plug-in installed.

According to Quicktime, I have the latest and greatest. Yet every time I go to the site, either by link or typing in it, it does nothing except giving me the little "Broken" Square. I have also tried to acess it from a number of "Public" computers as well, with equally poor results.
Perhaps it is all a THRUSH?Alien plot to prevent me from seeing it. I'll try it again in a week or two, and see if that makes a diffrence.
