Hi all,
I know we'll be covering Mindbender soon, but I thought I'd ask some questions early... 1) Were those the real UFO sets they showed when they pulled back the camera? I assume they are, but you never know. It was kinda neat to see them. 2) Was that Sylvia Anderson the first time they pull back to show the camera crew (I think the only woman in the group and at one point she was saying some barely audible lines). Yes, those were the real sets -- MINDBENDER was conceived to be a "cheap" episode, like those flashback episodes you see so often these days. So you don't think they'd go and build new sets when they were trying to save money, do you? :-) >2) Was that Sylvia Anderson the first time they pull back to show the camera >crew (I think the only woman in the group and at one point she was saying some >barely audible lines). No, that wasn't Sylvia Anderson, although I've seen people claim it was. Sylvia says it wasn't her, so that's all that matters to me... I think that person appears in 2 or 3 episodes, actually... Sylvia Anderson was in one episode I know of, I forget where I know this
from?? In Ordeal, in the start of the episode, Foster goes to his girlfriends and parties, Sylvia was a dancing extra. Marc:
Thanks for the info. I didn't know it was supposed to be an "on the cheap" episode. I figured they were the real sets used on the series, but then I thought that might be too much even for UFO...so I thought, "hey maybe they made mock ups of the sets" ... does that make sense? (Fake sets of real sets of fake locations? :) I'll have to check it out again -- it's an excellent episode. I stand corrected :)
