Re: MY UFOING 48TH BIRTHDAY

Bruce Sherman
I watched it in reruns mostly. So I guess I am a little different. I live in NYC. Local Channel 9 used to broadcast it weekly on Sunday afternoons, when not preempted for a baseball game ;) I probably still have the vhs tapes somewhere too :)

I was only 6 when I first saw UFO back in 1972. The biggest memory I have of that time was when I argued with the baby-sitter on what to watch on tv. . . I wanted UFO and she wanted to watch the Wonderful World of Disney! (I lost the battle because she was bigger.)

I'm pretty sure that there are loads of older UFO fans out there, who are disuaded from 'coming out' by fact of their age! I get enough 'patronising' comments from friends and family about the fact that I enjoy reading, writing and drawing UFO realted things... when I should be ... 'looking after the grandchildren' etc! It's not seen as 'normal' to be interested ( or should that be 'obsessed'!) with a TV programme that is 40 years old. (Philistines!)
Also.. let's be honest, for all those of my age who are computer literate, I know more people who never use the internet (my sister for one!) and therefore don't know that sites like this and fan sites in general even exist.
I didn't, until last year!! (shame on me!)But I'm making up for lost time now!

Hi All:

Just catching up on my e-mails. Your a great group of people and I have enjoyed reading your back and forth comments. I also am going to be 56 and still remember watching UFO on a small color TV I got for Christmas. Boy was I lucky. The only way I could record the show was via a reel to reel tape recorder! At least I could listen to the tape and remember the pictures of the action in my mind. That was great.

Oh Happy 48th Birthday....Enjoy It. It's all downhill from there.

LoWiz

Life begins at ....whenever you want it to!
Going to sit and watch Computer Affair right now, and then have a go at drawing Skydiver...Thunderbird 2 will have to wait !

Hi All,
I went one better !!! I recorded the opening music on my reel-to-reel Philips recorder AND filmed the opening on my SUPER 8 camera and was able to play the film and the music together......cutting edge technology!
I still have the film !!

Regards
Howard
