Micheal Billington as 007

Nick Braybrooke
He was great as Foster, but how do you think he would have made a good
007? He was certainly fit and good looking, but maybe to much of a
nice guy?

I think he would have been somewhat wooden in the role, personally.
Also, he'd never have projected the dour, cynical side of 007 as
represented in Fleming's novels, though to be fair only Dalton
has pulled that off well so far.

A better choice than Roger Moore though, without a doubt.

Are you reacting to Billington as seen in UFO? The
character is slenderly written, like most of Gerry
Anderson's characters. Perhaps he'd take the role of
007 in a direction you never expected. Better than
Lazenby (ouch) and, yes, better than Moore.

I've never seen him out of UFO (except for his cameo
in The Spy Who Loved Me), so I can't really judge. He
seemed fine in the series, enough to be popular.

I think he'd have been able to pull it off, remember how fiendish and
brutal he was in KILL STRAKER? And what about the time (DESTRUCTION??)
he got involved with a girl just to see what she was up to? Certainly
seems like the old "sex for dinner and death for breakfast" Commander
Bond that we all know and love.

You might like to try and get hold of a video of the film 'K.G.B: The
Secret War', in which he has the leading role, that of a spy. It
perhaps shows how he might have done as Bond. (Copies of the video
sometimes surface on eBay).

Pam McCaughey-2
I've seen the KGB: The secret War and loved it - Mike did ALL his own stunts
too! I know cause I e-mailed him and asked him! I think he would have made
an interesting 007! Pam
