Re: More Obituaries

Thank you Amelia for both of those insightful obituaries. Now I can mourn with the rest of you and know it is not a hoax.

I must say this is a wonderful piece by Paul Birchard, much less dry
and matter-of-fact than the traditional broadsheet obituary. In a
way it's frustrating to read obituaries like this .. I always wish I
could have read it before its subject had died, and better
appreciated them while they were still alive. It's an old cliche I
know, but we often only appreciate something when it's lost.

Well, knowing that Ed Bishop shared some of my convictions about
events over the last few years makes me even more glad that I was
able to say hello and thanks in person just once.

James

Reading in the one of the obits, it mentioned Ed Bishop was born in Shore
Road Hospital in Brooklyn. For those interested, I found out this hospital
closed in the 60's and was located in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. I would have to
guess, that his family lived close by.

Seems like all these outlets are simply recycling portions of text from
the same obituaries, right down to the misspelling of "Cortland".

It's great to see so many people remembering him though....
