Excellent!

Too bad we have to wait more than a year to start whining and
complaining about the film version.

Wow, I just read that interview... there's a lot of information in
there, but it appears to be a "best-case" scenario as far as I'm
concerned. I know that people have a tendency to be negative about
remakes, but this is looking great to me!

Ooh, after reading that I'm even more interested.

I'll see it the theatres, recommend to friends and buy the DVD.

Sales of the original series should get a bump, but 2011 viewers won't
experience the original atmosphere, plot complications, alien creepiness
and suspense of the original. Or maybe they will.

Cool.

Yes, I would think so... I will also have to spruce up my website,
and monitor it for increased traffic... (so far I have not seen
any increase)

One odd thing about this interview, is that the website it is posted
on, forbiddenplanet.com, is NOT a news site. It's a Sci-Fi store.
I can't even find a "news" section from the main page. I'm not
saying that this story is a hoax, just that it is seems a bit odd...

• Abandomoviez.net (Spanish)
• AceShowbiz.com
• Movieplayer.it - News and Info, Pics, Trailers (Italian)

is all that's listed at IMBDpro.

It's planned for 2011, lots of things can happen between now and then.

The best advice about any film particular remakes comes from Ben Franklin who said "Expect the worst, that way if things do turn out for the best you at least have the option of being pleasantly surprised."

True... unfortunately, I was NOT pleasantly surprised by the recent
remake of THE PRISONER... :-( Hopefully this UFO movie will turn out
much better.

Well, as long as it's Caviezel-free, it almost HAS to be an
improvement.

Was that the four consecutive nights of suck on AMC?

Without McGoohan it just doesn't work.

I suppose the same could be said for UFO if they don't reproduce the
original dark, moody atmosphere. If it goes into "focus group
evaluation" or add a laugh track we'll have to worry and abort.

That's what the producers are counting on.

Expect to see viral marketing on YouTube one month prior to the
theatrical release.

Maybe also clever UFO sightings in various cities.

Isn't our gracious host a rocket scientist?

I bet he's got some tricks up his sleeve.

Ex-rocket scientist... I've been demoted to airplane
scientist... :-) Hey, it's Boeing, there's more airplane
jobs here than rocket jobs!

But yes, a UFO movie may motivate me to work
more on my UFO website, which has been neglected
as of late (too many things to do, not enough
time to do them... I need that Alien time-freeze
device!)

Cheers Marc.

I'm one of the probably few that's actually met Marc in person. He's,
like 6'-10" in real life. A towering man.
