I'm already seeing people complaining about the price (90 pounds), but didn't the original Carlton Box 1 and Box 2 cost at least that much?

Ahh, well none of these releases had a 600 page book... I have to wonder if that's a typo... 600 pages???

And yes, the cover artwork isn't very good... not a good sign...

The book is definitely 600+ pages - 620 I believe - and coming from such a renowned source as Andrew Pixley, it's bound to be good.  Let's face it, a 600+ page book on a cult TV show could cost in excess of £20 on its own!  

This WILL be a very, very special release and no UFO fan can do without it.  THREE NEW documentaries, archive interview with Ed, photo galleries and, if you order from Anderson Entertainment, EXCLUSIVE postcards featuring never before seen photos.  Oh and 26 episodes of the greatest ever sci-fi TV series in HD.  It's a no-brainer, as they say!  

I know what I'll be getting for my birthday this year!

The best price I've found so far is HMV, both online and in-store:

Though they've got the release date wrong: it's November 14th, not October 14th. Amazon tend to price match so, hopefully, they'll reduce their price to the same amount.

...That's amazing!  Maybe an indication of how much HMV will be selling it for in their stores (although the higher overheads associated with a 'physical' outlet might prohibit this).  

I'm sure it'll come down in price fairly quickly, as these things tend to.  Still, worth every penny!!!!

Clare, I've been following a discussion about this on another site and one of its members went into his local HMV and pre-ordered at £62.99, so it's not just an online price.

Additionally, HMV do offer a free Click & Collect service, so it's possible to order online and pick it up from a local store in person.

I've also just written to Amazon UK pointing out the HMV price and asked whether they intend to drop their price accordingly.

I'm not advocating any seller above another I might add! I'm just looking for the best price and I think £60-70 tops is about right.

Okay, I've just got back a completely non-committal reply from Amazon:

As you say, fairly non-committal.

Having said that, I am reasonably willing to bet that the price WILL drop before release.  

There is a very good chance that I might just be passing HMV on Monday 14th November and might just have to take a quick detour to the Blu-ray section!

Great looking postcards now pictured on the Official Gerry Anderson website!  There are six of them, to be included in the UFO Blu-ray when ordered from them.

They were obviously taken during the UFO screen tests and, personally, before now I had no idea that they even existed!  Apart from the postcards it seems that there will be more of them in the image galleries on the Blu-rays.  I was especially amazed to see the photo of the 'Albino Alien', whom I had heard about but had never seen and was beginning to suspect was a bit of a myth!  But the proof is there!

£62.99 for just six Blu-Ray's is still a lot of money, but I suppose that is softened somewhat by the inclusion of the book. If we weren't being impatient (well, I am), I suppose Amazon would drop the price further to, say, £50 within a few months.

Well, to be fair, shipping is not 40 GBP for people living in the UK.  And this is a UK release.  :-)
