I was afraid for my life after my last post. I was going to ask about the amnesia drug but I forgot? I was going to start Procrastinators Anonymous but I never got to it. LOL. UFO forever.

Would make a good cartoon for Kevin.....

Opening caption: "Foster's First Day With SHADO"

Straker walks into a room strewn with bodies. In the middle is Foster
holding a smoking Kalashnikov, who proudly declares,
"I've taken care of the witnesses Commandah...."

"You DO know we have an amnesia drug, don't you Foster?..."

That would be so cool. I don't know if Kevin takes suggestions but that is a great one Dave. Kevin is so cool when it comes to his drawings. Maybe he can get a job where he draws alll the time. Maybe he does but I don't look up profiles unless it is necessary.

Suggestions are always welcome,Dave.I can do it if you wish.
More "bodies" mean smaller faces, and it becomes a bit
harder to get any likeness as the pixels break it up a bit.
When a cartoon involves many figures, I usually do them
separately, then combine them, otherwise if I mess it up,
I have to start again. It'll take about a week, I'll see
what I can put together. I'll post a draft sketch to see
if you are happy with it before overdrawing and colouring.
Could you let me know in what location this scene take place.
I'll put your name in place of mine as author in the final
version.

Regards, Kevin.

Wow Kev, it was just an off the cuff, I never dreamed you'd actually
take it up. But if you want to, knock yourself out. A very kind offer of you
to post the intermediary building block stages (draft sketch & all....). It
would be fascinating to see the mechanics & staging of the process of
creating a cartoon.

Your mention of drawing figures separately, then combining them later,
smacks of what I do alot with AutoCAD & programming. You eventually build up
libraries of objects which you can then later call on, or import into, your
drawings for much quicker and more sophisticated projects. Do you do it on
paper or on computer?

As far as a location, I guess it would be out in the field somewhere; a
house, or location where a bunch of people happened to see whatever
happened. It could even be outdoors.

Dave, I always start by drawing the cartoon on an A4 sketch pad
using pencil. I then scan it and export it to Corel Draw where it is
overdrawn at the appropriate line thickness usually in orange so I
can differenciate between the sketch and the computer lines. When
the drawing is complete, the scan is deleted and the orange lines
changed to black. It is then exported to Adobe PhotoDeLuxe where the
colours and border are added.
I don't have any library of sketches, each cartoon is drawn
separately, the only thing being reused is the border.
The joke is that although I have a new computer, it will not
run the old scanner, and I have to do all the cartoon work on the
old computer,(the scan files are about 25MB or more, and the
computer is very slow) Because of this the whole process
takes about 8 hours per cartoon. It is then reduced to 25% in size
(caused by upload file limits) and transfered to floppy disc for
uploading to SHADO using the new computer.
(at least I can use the new one for something).

Your suggestion on Foster shooting people instead of giving them
the amnesia injection has the potential for a massacre.
This would include all the Dalotek team, Anne Stone,Linda Simmonds
(if she hadn't been electrocuted) can you think of any others?
We could have a gallery of victims, and Foster on a multi-murder
charge. That would make Henderson happy.

Regards, Kevin.

Ah, the joys of incompatible equipment.

Who's that foxy girl from Destruction, the one he romanced for info?
Sarah Bosenquette (sp???)...

The massive gallery sounds like an idea, but they didn't all occure on
Foster's first day, did they? (or at least early on, before he got up to
speed on things)

Stephanie Beacham also played Sable on Dynasty's sister show The Colbys. Sister Kate. She also played a Dr. ? on Seaquest DSV. in the USA.

Sorry, yes you're right. I was forgeting the main concept
of your cartoon idea. I had better avoid any further sidetracking.
