Greetings all!
My name is John. I live in Connecticut, and I had almost forgotten about UFO, until just recently, when I was listening to music at a friend's house. The band we were listening to was Meat Beat Manifesto. They are a sort-of drum 'n bass band... Well anyway, One of their songs (If anyone needs to know the name of it, i can find out tomorrow) uses samples of the sounds of the UFOs! Suddenly I am like HEY WAIT WHOA GO BACK WHAT WAS THAT.. of course my friend had no idea what UFO was... I tried and tried to explain it to him, but he just didnt understand it. Needless to say, I am now OBSESSED with trying to recapture this memory from my youth that I barely remember... Yet I DO remember that I though it was SO cool to watch! I remember when the ITC theme blasted out, I would get goosebumps because it meant it was either t-birds or UFO... and I was one happy camper! Well, I'm sure I've rambled aimlessly enough... :) - John |

LOL! > Well, I'm sure I've rambled aimlessly enough... Naaah, rambling is good .... I never saw the show as a kid. I didn't discover it till it first came on the SciFi Channel several years ago. I probably would not have become such a huge fan had it not been for finding this group just at the right time. 8-) When there is no one to discuss stuff with, it's hard to keep the fascination alive. I was a huge Dr Who fan for a while, but that kind of faded. Same with the Man from UNCLE and Mystery Science Theatre 3000 <shrug> Welcome aboard, John! -- Yuchtar -- =+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+= Yuchtar zantai-Klaan | [hidden email] I am not a number! Contact me off-list - I have an extra set from the sci-fi channel.
Note - I have a teenager at home and only check my mail once a day, so if I don't get back immediately, don't panic. Cinema Classics (www.cinemaclassics.com) sells copies of the PolyGram Video series release a few years ago, which contains all of the episodes except: Reflections in the Water The Man who Came Back Identified Computer Affair They also sell the first volume as "Invasion: UFO" which is a 90-odd minute feature, put together from parts of "Identified", "Computer Affair", and "Confetti Check AOK". These are PAL to NTSC conversions however, so they are a bit speeded up. Also the quality ranges from good (survival) to barely watchable (long sleep). |
