Hi all,
Here's a new Mike Billington interview, conducted by UFO fan Alasdair Wilkins: http://home.att.net/~alasdair_wilkins/liveaction/ufo/michaelbillingtoninterview/interviewmb.htm Marc |
er... Marc .... remember those famous and scare words...Houston,we have a
problem! Marc we have a problem. The link you give takes you to a AT&T site that tells you that the links doesn't work because the address is not right because of using different terms that the person who set it up? Just thought you'd like to know. Guess I'm the only one up and still wired from the trip. And still no one commenting on Flight Path. Sort of make you wonder why you restarted the episode dicussions? I suspect your e-mail program has a problem, as you've had problems in the past with long web addresses. Try accessing the interview from my website's "What's New" page: http://ufoseries.com/new.html Same link, but hopefully bypassing your problem. Marc |

I got the interview. And I found this: -------------------- Q Perhaps you could give for everyone your final word on the latent homoerotic relationship between Foster and Straker? In your website you have pointed out that you believe it is more of a hero-worship, but in a 1996 interview with the UK magazine TV Zone you seemed to hint that you thought that there was something more to it when you said, I quite liked Kill Straker for quite different reasons. It is full of double entendres and worked beautifully as a self-mockery of a latent homosexual attraction between Foster and Straker if I cant have you then nobody will. A Well, there is an unexplainable belief that Straker has in Foster. His trust in him goes far beyond the logic of the plot. I mean why couldnt he believe that Foster is a traitor in Court Martial or beyond redemption in Kill Straker? Why does he recruit him into SHADO so readily in Exposed? Was it Love at First sight? Think about it!! --------------------- Just FYI ..... {{8-) -- Y, giggling as I run away ..... -- =+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+= Yuchtar zantai-Klaan | [hidden email] I am not a number! By the way, if anyone is a big fan of Michael Billington and can
somehow make it to the "Cult TV" convention, you should know that Mike is wanting to "move on" from answering questions about UFO, so this may be one of the last times to hear him talk about it. Marc |

I find that odd!, It's a shame when actors do this because it's what the fans
remember them for. I appreciate that to some actors UFO was "just a job" and we shouldn't make comparisons but look how pleasant Ed is with the show, he is more than happy to talk about it (and Captain Scarlet, heck he even remembers the opening lines from Scarlet), meet the fans etc. Each to his own I guess. He's been to several Italian cons, several Cult TV cons, has a website and answers questions by e-mail, and did a commentary for the A&E UFO DVDs. Certainly with all that, I can see how he might want to take a break from it and focus on something else. Also, I think as fans, we've probably already heard much of what Mike has to say on the subject, and probably should be more interested in hearing what some of the lesser heard actors/actresses/crew members have to say on the subject. It has only been in recent years that he has wanted to do UFO cons and things, because for many years when I was with Fanderson we tried to get him to come on board for cons and the like but he wasn't interested, so lets hope he's not disappearing altogether again. But like I said each to their own. Claire [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
