Newbie

Tania Woodbury
Hi all,
I'm a newbie to this group so I guess a short intro is in order.
My name's Tania from Auckland New Zealand. I'm old enough to remember the program screening here on TV (I think I was in primary school - was it Friday nights?)
Anyway, I've always retained an interest in the Anderson creations and found this group when surfing through some UFO websites.
I've had a quick look through the FAQ so I hope I'm not going over old ground, but what is the background on the Konami trading kits? I understand they were only released recently - was that the first time, and are they likely to be re-released?
Also, who stocks the Japanese plastic Mobile and Interceptor kits? I know they have been out of production for a while but other than E-bay, does anyone know where I can buy them? (I've checked HLJ and Rainbow 10 but no luck)
That's probably enough questions for a first post. I look forward to learning a bit more about the UFO series from you all.
Cheers for now
Tania.

Re: Newbie

Hi Rob,
Thanks for the URL - I'll definitely be checking out Monsters in Motion.

Yes, I've already got the DVD sets. I couldn't believe my luck when I found
them on Amazon. My sister is a Tomorrow People fan and when she was living
in the UK she sent me a Captain Scarlet DVD for my birthday. When I thanked
her, she said most UK programs were available so I looked and found the
complete collection of UFO episodes. Brilliant!

I remember seeing the UFO kitsets in various model shops over the years but
was put off by what I perceived to be their inaccuracies. Now I wish I'd
bought them. Going on experience of other modeling subjects, everything gets
re-released eventually, so hopefully it's just a matter of time before we
see these kits again.

Cheers

Tania.

Actually, the only existing UFO styrene model kit tools are the Imai Sky1,
Shadomobile and Moonbase, now owned by Aoshima. I checked last year with
Aoshima, Bandai and several other Japanese model companies to find out if
they had any viable tooling for other kits and they all told me the molds
had worn out and/or been destroyed.
