I just got home from spending a few days overseas and wanted to share
my attempts at shopping in London. Simply put - NO UFO FOR SALE! What a disappointment. There were tons of Captain Scarlet items (bought the DVD set) and some Thunderbirds, but the only UFO items I saw were a few scattered VHS tapes. Even stores like "Forbidden Planet" failed me. I guess I'll just have to keep waiting for the DVD release (sigh). The documentary on the Captain Scarlet set was interesting, but Ed's voice has changed noticeably, much more so than the actor who played Scarlet. It was still fun to see him talk about the series. The most interesting part was where he mentioned how he and the other actors would quickly flip through the scripts at each recording session to make sure their character wasn't being killed off. Off topic question: Are there sets of Thunderbirds and The Prisoner on DVD in the UK? I couldn't find them if there were. Bill |

Sorry, Bill! I've just seen that the links don't work properly, so please go to www.amazon.co.uk and type in your wishes. That should do it as well. Hello Bill, Sorry for responding to this so late - been out of town for a few days. > I just got home from spending a few days overseas and wanted to share > my attempts at shopping in London. And it was never a big hit with kids (generally speaking) so there aren't any spin-off models available unfortunately. > The documentary on the Captain Scarlet set was interesting, but Ed's > voice has changed noticeably, much more so than the actor who played > Scarlet. Captain Scarlet sounded exactly the same, but Captain Blue seemed to have an old man's voice. > Off topic question: Are there sets of Thunderbirds and The Prisoner on > DVD in the UK? I couldn't find them if there were. > Yep, there are, including boxed sets - Tower records and Virgin are good places to look for these. Hope you had a good time here in London anyway!
