I too noticed the silarity between Skybase
& the Valiant in Dr Who. This has been mentioned by others that I know,
which have seen both programmes. Plagiarism perhaps?

I like to think of it as homage.
We had the jelly babies remarks, and so forth, paying tribute to
older Dr. Who.
I can't think of any other GA/Dr Who tributes at the moment, but I'm
sure they're in there. Has anyone else spotted any?

Well, considering how the current Doctor Who
production team like to reference all their
favourites, then I suspect it is more a homage than
plagiarism.

Earlier in the same episodes they referenced the scene
in Doctor Who: The Sea-Devils (1972) where the Master
watches the Clangers on TV; in the new episode the
Master watches Telly Tubbies.

I'd say that Russel T. Davies (writer and executive
producer) is a Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons
(1967-8) fan.
