Re: Old UFO website

SHADO
Rob,

I am saddened to hear of the impending demise of your UFO site. But I understand why you might need the space for other interests.

Even though you may feel "there's not a lot there", there are (soon to be were) some things that I haven't seen anywhere else.

I for one would like to thank you for having taken the effort to put the site together, and keeping it online these many years. I'm sure that I'm not the only one here that will miss it.

Thanks again,

Jeff

Hi all,

I'm going to be taking my old UFO site (which hasn't
been updated in over 6 years!) down soon, as I'll be
using it for astrophotography (this sort of thing:

If anyone here wants anything from it, whether for
your own site or personal use, you are very welcome.
I'll put up a message redirecting UFO fans to Marc's
site, as it still gets a lot of search engine hits,
even though there's not a lot there! The URL is:
http://www.darkstar2.demon.co.uk/

BTW, I'll not be leaving this group anytime soon! :)

Cheers,
--
Rob

Boy, it seems like there must be some sort of cheap / reliable
option out there these days, as the web hosting plans just
have gotten better and better over the years.

Note that my "UFO Series Home Page" is hosted at LunarPages.com,
and has been for several years. I'm only paying US$7 per
month, and for that I get 350GB of storage and 3500GB/month
bandwidth. That's a great deal compared to the old days,
when I was paying around $25 per month for far less storage
and bandwidth.

Rob, what capacity do you need? I know where you can get
850MB web-hosting with 15 email addresses and webmail for
£1.67 per month, if you commit to two years. I do have an
association with the firm in question so I won't advertise
on-list, but please contact me if you're interested.

A UK domain name, to point at it, would only cost £7.95
for the same period.
