Purple Wigs

I don't wish to sound pompous or anything,but I'm fed up with everyone looking deeply into the reason for wearing purple wigs.Men can't get away with wigs.Women (as a fashion or clothing enhancement) can (see Ordeal).Even as a 12 year old watching UFO I knew they were simply part of the uniform.

Reminds me of Gerry Anderson's comment about what an actor's motivation,mood or emotion should be when picking up a red phone.

Sorry, but as this group is called SHADO, discussing any and all aspects relating to a classic sci-fi series entitled UFO, and purple wigs are just one attribute of said series, then whether you like it or not, at some point in the future, as in the last few days, the subject will come up. So at the risk of sounding pompous (Where have I heard that before?) I'm afraid you'll just have to put up with it as and when it occurs.  
   
It strikes me that the subject was discussed extremely briefly, and not looked into as deeply as you seem to think. I myself only chipped in a couple of ideas, including a not-at-all serious comment on why the men on Moonbase didn't wear purple wigs. (I've seen a site where someone poses that same question and illustrates it with a mock photo of Paul Foster in a purple wig wondering why everyone's laughing at him.)
   
Surely the purpose of a discussion group is to discuss whatever subject comes up in the conversation? If you don't like a subject, you can always abstain from joining in and delete the message. As I have said in the past,if a subject gets a bit technical for me, such as picture aspect ratios and equipment/vehicles, I keep shtum. But if it's something that I might know about or have an idea on, for example a suggestion for a cartoon, then I'm in SHADO and I'll venture an opinion. Otherwise why join?

Greetings fellow U.F.O. Series fans,

I rarely interject my feelings about the series but "THE
PURPLE WIG SUMMIT" seems to go way beyond what the true enjoyment and
re-viewing of the episodes that are great !!

On the 1st episode on the A&E U.S.A. release Mr. Gerry Anderson
made plenty of references of what he would have done diffrently if he
were to make this fine programe today . The Moonbase Intersceptors
and Skydiver would have guided projectiles and the vehicles he would
change some aspects of there operations . The fact is , this show was
very entertaining in my family back in the 1970's and i just like
watching the show for the quality that was given at the time of
production . I am also a member proudly of Black Rock 1 Fans of Gerry
Anderson' "Supercar " and we love the story in 99% of the episodes 39
is the whole series . "WE FEW ,WE HAPPY FEW " Love the charactors so
much that more than one of our members have written very fine novels
and share them with our members .
