Re: Purple Wigs

I can only speak for myself, but as an American kid, I loved the purple wigs.  I thought all the girls looked GREAT in them.  In fact, when I saw Gabrielle, and others in some episodes without the purple wigs (Computer Affair, Sub Smash), it was a major disappointment.

I think the purple wigs look superb but quite why they were wearing them (except as a fashionable part of uniform) is a mystery. Sometimes pseudo-scientific explanations of the wigs are offered but in the end they were just great to look at. I did always though enjoy the novelty of seeing the women without them, or the odd occasions when they would turn up differently attired at SHADO HQ or elsewhere.

When I was 9 I asked my older sister why the ladies on the moon had purple
hair and the men didn't. The answer I got was a 20 minute speech on male
chauvinist dominated media moguls who objectify woman. I never did find outwhy
the men didn't have to wear the wigs. :-)

   The girls wore purple wigs?  with those tight fitting costumes, who noticed the wigs.  especially  watching at 12 or 13 years of age

David Richards-2
They all looked great - wigs - no wigs - string vest (a la Skydiver) or no
string vest

Gabrielle though.. Perfection!

Made me want to go to the moon!  I love them still especially when accompanied by the silver uniform.  My wife is currently looking for both.  Oh, happy days!! ;)

Hi;
I myself don't remember seeing any in NY wearing them. At lease not till the show went off the air.
But have seen them more in the 90's and 2000.
