Questions...?

Ben_the_bear
Hello All,
I had watched the series as a kid in the early-mid 70's. I bought
the DVD 8 disk set, because, even though I couldn't remember anything
but the Dinky toys (that I wish I still had), I knew that I had
enjoyed it.

My questions are:
* I noticed several people (Ellis,Freeman,ETC...) seem to just
disappear. Does anyone know the what for on that?
* Does the series really end with "The Long Sleep"? Or is there a
third volume? If so, that's a terrible way to end such an awesome
series...
* Where did Wanda come from? Like magic a new officer appeared...
* Am I the only kook here that wears a S.H.A.D.O pin on his leather
jacket? :D

Thanks and have fun,
Matt

Yes -- due to the closing of the film studio (MGM Borehamwood),
there was a 6 month wait until production restarted at Pinewood
Studios. Many of the actors went on to something new, as
they didn't have a longterm contract to stay with the show.

It does indeed end with "The Long Sleep". We should go back in
time and convince Lew Grade to make more episodes... :-)

They needed to replace George Sewell's character with someone, and
Wanda was picked for the job. It was either her or Colonel Gray
from THE MAN WHO CAME BACK, and they picked her.

You might want to read my UFO "Frequently Asked Questions" page,
which answers some of these questions (and more!)

Okay whose up to stealing TARDIS or going foreward in time to steal a
Federation Starship and doing that thing where they go back in time. Wait a minute
that would be very difficult, either way. Wouldn't it be a more sound idea
just to convince Trilogy Entertainment Group, who currently own the rights to
the UFO series to simply instead of making a new series that would mess up the
ideas and concepts of the original to simply pick up the original. I mean make
it in the present or slightly in the future but have everything that happen
in the original series as past history and this is the current day SHADO
operating under new guidelines and budgets. Get those members of the original can
they can and then let Trilogy Entertainment Group have their wish and get some
big name stars to be the new SHADO operatives. Much better idea than just
let's remake this thing but keep nothing of the orginal ideas and concepts<imho>

But you can't! The moon left orbit on September 13th, 1999! Not only
would you have to rescue the moon from it's present position, but
you'd have to get Straker out of the Asylum that he's been tucked
into for the past few decades (He was starkers! Raving about some
UFOs invading Earth!) What would they wear? Polyester is out of
fashion!

LOL!

I couldn't resist...
