If we regard the "UFO Annual 1971" as the canon, in the article of
Foster's biograpy carried in the same book, it it written that "Major
Paul J. Foster was elected to Shado".
I suppose that just after the episode "Exposed", he joined SHADO as a
major and trained for a while as Straker said to him at the end of
the same episode, and Foster has been promoted to the rank of
lieutenant colonel when he completed all the courses, and has taken
part in actual fighting.

BTW, for THUNDERBIRDS fans...
The ex-Japanese fashion model, Ms Hiroko Matsumoto died in Paris on
20th June, aged 67.
She was the first oriental fashion model who appeared in fashion
shows in Paris since 1960, who was very popular in the scene.

Christine Glanvillle, who scupted the puppet head of Tin-Tin, stated
positively in 1992 when she was interviewed that the figure of Tin-
Tin was based on a certain Japanese fashion model girl who had been
very popular in England at that time, that is, Ms Hiroko Matsumoto,
though Christine did not remember the name.

It isn't canon - it's really only something like officially authorised
fanfic, like many of the annuals based on Gerry Anderson TV
series.

If it is "Officially Authorised" by Anderson, then doesn't that make it "Canon" because the creater oked it? Or do you consider "Canon" to only bre that which is up on the screen?
