Hi, Yuctar, Worldwide VCRs can always be found for sale on eBay. They usually sell for more than $100 dollars though (more like $400-$500). I suspect we don't have the lower priced models because there is no real market for them. And how can you tell if your player can be hacked or not? If this works well, this would certainly be the low-budget way to do it. Marc |

I'm assuming it will work like the AD-600a, with a mild squeezing of the picture from top to bottom. Speaking of which, my DVD drive in my AD-600a just went belly up, so I pulled the DVD drive from my computer and was able to plunk it into the thing, and it works better than it did before (but it doesn't look as nice cosmetically). Instead of buying a new DVD for the computer, I've been considering buying the AD-1500. If the serial number of the AD-1500 starts with an SV or has no letter at all, it can't be easily hacked (requires a firmware chip replacement). If the serial number starts with any other letter of the alphabet, you can hack the firmware by loading an firmware patch via CD.
