I've run a couple of Egroups and been on them for 2 years now and the ads I
just ignore, to me they start looking like email headers. But I do
understand it is annoying especially if you run a great web site with no
banner ads or pop up boxes! The banners are almost okay with me but those
Geocities pop up boxes drive me nuts. Especially if I'm paging through a
web site.

Also it won't confuse this group with the UFO cultist groups. I did a
search on UFO on Egroups and there were only 6 UFO Egroups. All of them
dealt with "real" UFO's (Can you tell I don't believe).

Hey, here's a piece of news, while I was fiddling around Egroups I searched
in several areas, Babylon 5, Gerry Anderson, Space 1999 etc. And I found
some small Egroups for Gerry Anderson, Fireball XL5 Captain Scarlet AND . .
.
a brand new Egroup for FANDERSON! When I signed on it said the group wasn't
yet live BUT I just got approval from Fanderson and a Welcome to Fanderson
email. This group is for Fanderson members only but I know there are a
bunch of members on the UFO list.

I've recently joined Fanderson through the efforts of Anthony D over on the
Space 1999 list who does frequent Fanderson "runs" in which many people
order items through his account. He does this with Fanderson's approval so
many people over there have had access to the terrific 1999 soundtracks as
well as all the other great stuff.

Anyway I'm sure Marc and the other Fanderson members on
FAB-UFO/SHADO-EGROUPS will find this news exciting!

I had found it searching under the keyword Gerry Anderson. Even though I
recieved an email confirmation that I was on the list I could not access the
list throught the "my Groups" tab at the top of Egroups page

The link is:

http://www.egroups.com/group/fanderson

and the description is:
Fanderson is the Official Appreciation Society for the work of Gerry
Anderson, endorsed by Anderson Entertainment Ltd, Carlton International
Media Ltd, Space Productions Ltd, Carrington Productions International and
Gerry Anderson Productions. The club covers all of the Gerry Anderson
television series and films, from the Supermarionation series Supercar,
Fireball XL5, Stingray, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Joe 90 and The Secret
Service, through the live-action series UFO, The Protectors and Space:1999,
the more recent series Terrahawks, Dick Spanner and Space Precinct, and
beyond to his latest series, the spectacular stop-motion animated adventure
Lavender Castle.

THIS eGROUP IS CURRENTLY BEING EVALUATED, AND IS NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING
SUBSCRIPTIONS. IF YOU TRY TO SUBSCRIBE YOUR DETAILS WILL BE HELD, AND
APPROVED ONCE THE eGROUP IS LIVE.

The actor Michael Billington we all know from UFO is not the newspaper
critic. They share the same name and it is coincidental that the critic
covers the film and tv area.

No, I believe that's a different Mike Billington.

Mike has made TV appearances, hasn't he? I recently saw him in Maigret,
although, no idea when those were made ........
