If a new UFO movie or series was to be made, the story
should remain the same, it should be about SHADO
fighting an dying alien race who are intent on
harvesting the human race for fresh bodyparts. If a
new UFO movie or series was about anything other than
this then it wouldn't be UFO!

I hope that if a UFO movie or series is made, it's set
in the future, how about 2080? Personally, I didn't
like it that UFO was set in 1980 just as I didn't like
it that Space:1999 was set in 1999! If Space:1999 is
made into a movie - and, believe me, it's going to get
optioned in the wake of Thunderbirds, Joe 90 & UFO -
the title will definitely have to go!

Hi all - I have to agree with Neil on his comments all except one point - I
wouldn't like to see a UFO movie placed any later in time than say 2010 or
so. Update it if necessary in terms of hardware and get rid of the purple
wigs of course, but let's keep the original idea that the aliens are a dying
race using terrans as a shopping mart for their own nefarious purposes. We
never learned alot about the aliens during the series - keeping them
mysterious was more interesting - at least IMHO! Pam

But I thought all these events occurred in a parallel universe with
surprising similarities to our own but with faster technological
development? How else would you explain 1984 and 2001?

2010 is only 6.5 years away .. almost 'present day'. I think
that setting it a decade or two further into the future would
allow for a lot more interesting technology and special effects.
