Hey John - ever been to Canada? I'm here in New Brunswick (Luke Skywalker characterizes my town precisely when he says "If there's a bright centre to the universe, this is the furthest point from it!") Otherwise, I thought it was cool that Ed Bishop is a grampa again. I know this is OT, but I found some fan sites for Hawaii 5-0 - I hadn't remembered how fascinated I was with Jack Lord.....what a gorgeous man he was (he died 2 yrs ago). The fans are collecting $$ to make a beautiful memorial to be erected in Hawaii to his memory! Back to UFO - I thought it interesting about the second effort afoot - anybody know more about it? Maybe it's just me, but I cannot imagine UFO without Ed Bishop, Mike Billington, Peter Gordeno, George Sewell, et al. Another question - I read somewhere that Gary Myers, who Played Captain Lew Waterman was unwell. Does anyone have an update on his health condition? He was another one of my UFO favourites! Pam |

I know what you mean - but although it wouldn't be the same without them, it wouldn't be quite the same with them all thirty years older as well. I personally think it would be better to do the 'Star Trek NTG' thing and use younger actors with occasional appearances by members of the original cast. The idea and the spirit of the programme could live on. I suspect that commercial reality would dictate it anyway. And in any case, I'm sure Straker (Carlin, Freeman et al) wouldn't have stayed in the same jobs for thirty years, and it's only natural that the focus of the show would move to the current commander, SkyDiver (or modern equivalent) Captain and so on. And remember, the Mission Impossible films did very well without the original cast .. James |

Hi James - my own UFO story moves the show from the 1980's to the present -
2001 - and I've certainly depicted most of the original characters into other job situations, retirement, etc. I guess I should have been a little more detailed in my desire to see original characters appear in a film version of the show. Cameos would be the more appropriate word, perhaps. As for M:1 - I didn't even both with the movie versions - if it ain't got some taste of the original - not for me thanks! Pam |

I think it would be interesting to have just some of the origianl cast in it, plus some newbies- would heighten the effect of time passing. maybe some crisis brings the few remaininng ones back to help shado save earth?
