Re: Robin Williams

Actually that's not a bad choice. Robin Williams
can do "straight"
rolls very well as has been evidenced in some of his
more recent work.
I
think it's an inspired choice.

Tom Bryant

Robin Williams as Alec Freeman? I just don't see it! I
know that Williams can do straight but if he was to
play Freeman you wouldn't see the character as
Freeman, just as Williams as Freeman - it wouldn't
work!

Am I the only one who is tired of all this Tom Hanks
as Straker and Williams as Freeman stuff? I think some
of us are getting carried away with the idea of a
movie that may never get made!

"Robin Williams is totally inappropriate as Alec Freeman."

While at first glance I'd be inclined to agree, fearing that (if given
the role of Alec) he'd jump up and down and yell "Nanoo Nanoo!" during
the first UFO sighting or alien encounter. However, after seeing him
in ONE HOUR PHOTO, I don't think there's a role he can't do well.

Gee, I really thought I might have put a end to all these suggestions of
actors totally "wrong" for the roles of main characters in UFO by putting
down that they should only be played by actors of a similar type to who was
originally cast in the role in the original series. Silly Me!
Why not just throw dart at the casting directory?
If you are going to talk about this get serious people.
If you are serious then I'm "scared"!
