I just went back the UFO Series site and had another look at the
interview Gabrielle and Ed did. The transcript by Lorraine Myer is there for anyone to read. It says and I quote directly from it: CHRIS: You were in two episodes of the Professionals. GABRIELLE: Yes, that's right. I was, wasn't I? Yes. Brilliant. God you are clever.(Gabrielle then turns to Ed and asks) What about Ed? There you have it. Gabrielle was in two episodes of The Professionals. Not just her saying this but the interviewer also. Anyone want to eat their words?<g> James K. |

Or, she doesn't remember offhand at this point how many she was in, and was simply following the interviewer's lead, and the interviewer was mistaken. She only appears in the credits for one episode, period. If she was in another, it was in an uncredited (and hence probably nonspeaking and very small) role. - Lisa |

Amazing how people believe whatever they read... :-) I was at that interview, and there was at least one occasion where it was clear (to me) that the interviewer was asking a question of Ed, but Gabrielle thought it was a question for her, so she started talking. I think it might have been this very question. -- Marc Martin, [hidden email] |

Perhaps she was in two, but it's at least possible that the interviewer was wrong, and that Gabrielle misremembered. Ed Bishop misremembered on the same subject when asked, once. |

I think that it mostly likely that it was an uncredited role. I don't think
both she and the interviewer would both make a mistake. Surely he did his research before he asked the question. Now the question is if she did indeed make two appearances in The Professionals, what was the other one she was in? James K. |

The original question came from someone in the audience, who asked both Ed & Gabrielle about their roles in the Professionals. Gabrielle started, and discussed the one episode she was in. The interviewer, who knew Ed had appeared in 2 episodes, prompted Ed by pointing this out. Gabrielle mistakenly thought he was talking to her, and mistakenly confirmed that she had been in 2, but of course since she couldn't remember anything about a 2nd episode, she quickly passed the question off to Ed (who it was intended for in the first place). Then Ed mistakenly said that he had only been in 1 episode of The Professionals, because he had forgotten that he'd be in 2! This is why you can never really 100% trust what you hear at conventions or read in interviews. Quite often the actors/producers really don't remember, so they make mistakes, and then the fans run off believing that they've learned something exciting & new! -- Marc Martin, [hidden email] |

Apparently we are working at cross purposes Marc. My first post was in reply
to the one saying I was mistaken and that Gabrielle had not said what I found the quote of her saying. Now, You and everyone else are telling me, oh, Gabrielle made a mistake. Okay everyone makes mistakes. But if that is true...who among you is infalliable enough to say they aren't the one in error. But since I was just asking a question which no one wants to discuss or research it is rather pointless to persue it. James K. :-( |

I've got all the episodes of The Professionals on tape - infact I'm writing
an article about the making of the series for a British TV magazine - and I can almost certainly say that she was only in one episode. Ed, however, is definitely in two. Just to confirm I'll go away and ask the people at the Professionals yahoogroups. You have to remember that, although people like ourselves take every role that some actors do incredibly seriously, it was just a job for them. Guesting on a show might only be a couple of days' filming - and I defy anyone (without the aid of diaries) to remember exactly what they did over the course of a couple of days twenty years ago. I was probably watching TV for the under 4s! |
