Hi James - what an INCREDIBLE site! I wonder how much it would cost to have
a Straker done? certainly it would be possible to have photos e-mailed to them, detailing the face, clothing, etc. Verrrry tempting - have a look at this site, EdStrakerites - it's too cool! If a bunch of us wanted Strakers done, maybe it would bring the cost down? Pam |
Hi Pam,
I was sort of wondering that myself. If we could get enough people interested that wanted figures and then find out if how much we could get the price down for buying a small number like it mentions in it its example of a Abraham Lincoln figure for GI Joe collectors. Perhaps have two figures done a year. One male and one female. Like Straker and Lake from Timelash. Next year Ellis and Foster from Close Up. Freeman and Barry, Ford and Ayshea, Carlin and Howell etc.,etc. Just an idea anyway. All best wishes, James K. |

I think it's a great idea - and often companies of this sort will give a
"group price" to a specialty group depending on how many are ordered. I also think the company might enjoy the chance to place scans of a finished UFO product on their site for future referencing as to how good they can manage, or even get more orders from UFO collectors who glom onto their site. It's worth it to poll the e-group at least - what do you think? Pam "If we could get enough people interested that wanted figures and then find out if how much we could get the price down for buying a small number ......Perhaps have two figures done >a year. Hi Pam, Well, I'm the least interested person in 'UFO' fandom in models etc... but frankly, if the models of characters (as opposed to machinery) were sufficiently high quality, even I'd be interested... Regards, Andy |

sounds like a winner to me.
However, I'd prefer Straker an Ellis as the first ones released. Count me in - though I'd like a decent scale, something like 1/6th.
Cheers, Bruce >From: "Pam McCaughey" <[hidden email]> >Reply-To: [hidden email] >To: [hidden email] >Subject: [SHADO] Re: UFO action figures >Date: Thu, 12 Jul 2001 09:16:08 -0400 > > >Well, I'm the least interested person in 'UFO' fandom in models > >etc... but frankly, if the models of characters (as opposed to > >machinery) were sufficiently high quality, even I'd be interested... > >Andy > >Anybody else out there even remotely interesting in pursuing this idea? Sure - in a decent scale (ie 1/6th) and if the sculpting is good enough...

Me too if the price was reasonable.
